Sickness or Disease definition

Sickness or Disease means the alteration of a person’s state of health resulting from internal or external cause(s), creating objectively verifiable symptoms and/or signs, and revealing itself by the impairment of physiological or mental functions.
Sickness or Disease means noticeable change in the physical health of an Insured occurring during the Domestic Trip or International Trip which requires the Insured to seek care of a Medical Practitioner acting within the scope of his/her license to treat Sickness for which the claim is made provided the nature of illness is not excluded from the Policy.
Sickness or Disease means an illness or disease first contracted and commenced by the Insured Person during the Trip that requires treatment by a Qualified Medical Practitioner.

Examples of Sickness or Disease in a sentence

  • The injury caused by the Accident must be the basis of claim but in no event shall Injury mean Sickness or Disease howsoever caused unless caused by an Accident.

  • Asbestosis or any related Sickness or Disease resulting from the existence, production, handling, processing, manufacture, sale, distribution, deposit or use of asbestos, or products thereof.

  • In the event the Insured Person is hospitalized as a result of Injury, Sickness or Disease prior to the termination of insurance, benefits will be paid provided treatment is continuous for such Injury, Sickness or Disease subject to the terms and provisions of this policy in effect as of the date of the termination of insurance.

  • Rental Expense Benefit If as the result of an Injury, Sickness or Disease, an Insured Person is confined as an inpatient in a hospital and under the regular care and attendance of a Physician, SSQ Insurance Company Inc.

  • Repatriation Benefit If, as a result of Injury, Sickness or Disease, loss of life is sustained by an Insured Person not less than 50 kilometres from the Insured Person's normal place of Residence, SSQ Insurance Company Inc.

  • If an Insured Person suffers a covered Illness or Sickness or Disease for which benefits, are payable under more than one such Similar Policy issued by Us, then the Insured Person shall have the right to require a settlement of his claim in terms of any of his policies and contribution as defined in the policy will not apply.

  • Maximum Limit of Indemnity With the exception of those benefits listed below, the total amount payable under this plan for reimbursement of all expenses, which an Insured Person has incurred as the result of all Injuries caused by any one (1) Accident or as the result of any one (1) Sickness or Disease, will not exceed the Maximum Limit of $1,000,000.

  • If, as a result of Injury, Sickness or Disease, the Insured Person is confined as an inpatient in a Hospital, coverage will continue up to 72 hours from the date of discharge from such Hospital.

  • Disability shall mean a Sickness or Disease or Injury, including any and all complications arising therefrom.

  • The Insured Person must be diagnosed to have terminal Sickness or Disease by the attending Registered Medical Practitioner and the Registered Medical Practitioner has indicated a prognosis that no curative treatment which will lead to a recovery and the life expectancy of the Insured Person is highly likely to be twelve (12) months or less.
