Special Sewage definition

Special Sewage means any sewage which does not conform to the definition for Normal Sewage, but which can be treated to meet EPA and/or State regulations after pretreatment by the user or by implementing special operating procedures at the sewage treatment works. The “Industrial Pretreatment Program” (IPP), adopted by the District, identifies various types of special sewage and treatment criteria required prior to discharge or continuation of discharge into the District’s collection system.
Special Sewage means any sewage which does not conform to the definition of Normal Sewage, but which can be treated by the District after pretreatment by the user or by utilization of special operating procedures by the District at the sewage treatment plant. All sewage from vaults within the boundary of the District shall be deemed to be “Vault Sewage”, rather than “Special Sewage”. “Industrial Pretreatment regulations” adopted by the District identifies various types of special sewage and treatment criteria required prior to discharge into the District’s collection system. A list of various types of special sewage is included in Appendix A, attached hereto.
Special Sewage means any sewage which does not conform to the definition for Normal Sewage, but which can be treated by the District after pretreatment through the District’s utilization of special operating procedures at the sewage treatment works. A list of various types of special sewage and the required pretreatment process for each is included in Appendix B, attached hereto.

Examples of Special Sewage in a sentence

  • Shall mean the liquid by-products from industrial and manufacturing processes as distinct from Normal Sewage or Special Sewage.

  • Prohibited sewage is further defined in Section 9.4. 9.3 Special Sewage: The discharge or introduction into the public sewers of any special sewage shall be subject to the review and prior approval of the Board, which may prescribe limits on the strength and character of such sewage.

  • The admission into the sewer system of any Special Sewage through the sewer main lines shall be subject to the review and approval of the manager, which may prescribe limits on the strength and character of such Special Sewage.

  • Where necessary, in the opinion of the Manager or the Board, the owner who desires to deposit Special Sewage into the sewer mains shall provide, at his expense, such pretreatment facilities as may be necessary to treat such Special Sewage prior to discharge to the sewer main.

  • Thus, the prediction is that, for a given tax rate, in economies where enforcement is quite effective, i.e. α is low, the minimum wage pushes workers into inactivity and therefore, it has a negative impact on efficiency, as productive labour stays idle.

  • Sewage is classified into three main categories, termed "Normal Sewage," "Special Sewage," and "Prohibited Sewage," as hereafter defined.

  • There is also evidence that the project has raised awareness more generally in the schools taking part, and among parents.

  • Special Sewage shall mean any Sewage which does not conform to the definition of Normal Sewage, but which can be accepted by the District after Pretreatment.

  • Sewage sludge means a solid, semi-solid, or liquid residue generated during the treatment of domestic sewage in a treatment works as defined in section 6111.01 of the Revised Code. "Sewage sludge" includes, but is not limited to, scum or solids removed in primary, secondary, or advanced wastewater treatment processes. "Sewage sludge" does not include ash generated during the firing of sewage sludge in a sewage sludge incinerator, grit and screenings generated during preliminary treatment of domestic sewage in a treatment works, animal manure, residue generated during treatment of animal manure, or domestic septage.

  • Stormwater management planning agency means a public body authorized by legislation to prepare stormwater management plans.

  • Electric provider means any of the following:

  • Neighborhood electric vehicle means a self-propelled

  • Sewage means a combination of the water-carried wastes from residences, business buildings, institutions, and industrial establishments, together with such ground, surface, and storm waters as may be present.

  • Master electrician means a person licensed under this chapter as a master

  • Cottage Sector Means a single dwelling that does not have a common facility for a multiple number of tenants.

  • Sewage Treatment Plant means any arrangement of devices and structures used for treating sewage.

  • Public building and "public work" means a public building of, and a public work of, a governmental entity (the United States; the District of Columbia; commonwealths, territories, and minor outlying islands of the United States; State and local governments; and multi-State, regional, or interstate entities which have governmental functions). These buildings and works may include, without limitation, bridges, dams, plants, highways, parkways, streets, subways, tunnels, sewers, mains, power lines, pumping stations, heavy generators, railways, airports, terminals, docks, piers, wharves, ways, lighthouses, buoys, jetties, breakwaters, levees, and canals, and the construction, alteration, maintenance, or repair of such buildings and works.

  • Special service district means the same as that term is defined in Section 17D-1-102.

  • Underground source of drinking water means an aquifer or its portion:

  • Small municipal separate storm sewer system or "small MS4" means all separate storm sewers that are (i) owned or operated by the United States, a state, city, town, borough, county, parish, district, association, or other public body (created by or pursuant to state law) having jurisdiction over disposal of sewage, industrial wastes, stormwater, or other wastes, including special districts under state law such as a sewer district, flood control district or drainage district, or similar entity, or an Indian tribe or an authorized Indian tribal organization, or a designated and approved management agency under § 208 of the CWA that discharges to surface waters and (ii) not defined as "large" or "medium" municipal separate storm sewer systems or designated under 4VAC50-60-380 A 1. This term includes systems similar to separate storm sewer systems in municipalities, such as systems at military bases, large hospital or prison complexes, and highway and other thoroughfares. The term does not include separate storm sewers in very discrete areas, such as individual buildings.

  • Septage means the liquid and solid material pumped from a septic tank, cesspool, or similar domestic sewage treatment system, or from a holding tank, when the system is cleaned or maintained.

  • Stormwater management plan means the set of drawings and other documents that comprise all the information and specifications for the programs, drainage systems, structures, BMPs, concepts and techniques intended to maintain or restore quality and quantity of stormwater runoff to pre-development levels.

  • Public sewer means a sewer in which all owners of abutting properties have equal rights, and is controlled by public authority.

  • Public School Student Accessing Courses at a Distance means a student who is scheduled for a full course load through the District and attends all classes virtually.

  • International air transportation means transportation by air between a place in the United States and a place outside the United States or between two places both of which are outside the United States.

  • Electrical protection barrier means the part providing protection against any direct contact to the high voltage live parts.

  • Sewage sludge weight means the weight of sewage sludge, in dry U.S. tons, including admixtures such as liming materials or bulking agents. Monitoring frequencies for sewage sludge parameters are based on the reported sludge weight generated in a calendar year (use the most recent calendar year data when the NPDES permit is up for renewal).

  • Large municipal separate storm sewer system means all municipal separate storm sewers that are either:

  • Cooling Water means the water discharged from any use such as air conditioning, cooling or refrigeration, or to which the only pollutant added is heat.
