Trusted entity definition

Trusted entity means an independent, unbiased third party that contributes to, or provides, important security assurances that enhance the admissibility, enforceability and reliability of information in electronic form. In a public/private key system, a trusted entity registers a digitally signed data structure that binds an entity's name (or identity) with its public key.
