Union Office definition

Union Office. Upon application by the Union in writing, the Nursing Home will give reasonableconsiderationto a request for the leave of absence, without pay, to any employee elected or appointed to full-time Union office. It is understood that not more than one (1) employee in the bargaining unit may be on such leave at the same time. Such leave, if granted, shall be for a period of one (1) calendar year from the date of appointment unless extended for a further specific period by agreement of the parties. Seniority and service shall accumulate during such leave. Itwill become the responsibility of the employee for full payment, one month in advance, of any applicable benefits in which the employee is participating during such leave of absence. It is agreed that for the purpose of Workers' Safety and Insurance coverage, such employees are deemed to be employed by the Union. The Employer shall pay vacation as a of earnings for the period of the leave.

Examples of Union Office in a sentence

  • Each time there is a WISHA inspection of the Employer’s property in an area where WFSE employees perform their duties, the Employer shall contact the Union Office to find out whom the Union designates as the employee representative.

  • One copy shall be given to the employee and one copy shall be given to the Employer and one copy shall be given to the Union Office within seven (7) days of the incident giving rise thereto.
