00 - UNION SECURITY. 10:01 It is agreed and understood by the Parties hereto that there shall be a compulsory check-off upon all Employees who come within the Unit to which this Agreement applies, and it shall continue during the period of this Contract. 10:02 The Employer agrees to deduct Union Dues from the earnings of each Employee in the amount certified by the Treasurer of the Union. Where Union dues are to be changed, as certified by the Treasurer of the Union, the Employer shall implement such change to be effective the second payroll period immediately following written notification. 10:03 The Employer agrees to deduct the amount of dues from each payroll period of each month and remit the amount of dues so deducted to the Treasurer of the Union no later than seven (7) calendar days after which the dues are deducted. 10:04 The Treasurer of the Employer when remitting the dues deducted to the designated Officer of the Union, shall include a statement clearly setting forth the names of the Employees from whom the dues were deducted, also showing any additions or deletions in staff. This statement will also indicate the status of the Employees by showing whether an Employee is Permanent, Part Time, Probationary, Temporary or Student. 10:05 No Contract, written or oral, shall be entered into between the Employer or any of its designated representatives, and Employees covered by this Agreement on matters relative to hours of work, wages, and working conditions, promotions, demotions, or any other conditions affecting the welfare of the Employees in general. 10:06 In April and October of each year, the Employer will forward electronically to the Section Chair and Secretary of the Local Union a list of all Employees including first and last name, current classification, employment status, home mailing address, and home phone number. In each year, the Union will receive an additional list of Employees upon written request. 10:07 The Employer will provide each new Employee with a copy of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and a Union orientation document to be provided by the Union. 00 - UNION SECURITY. 10:01 It is agreed 4.01 The Union’s Chief Xxxxxxx or his designate shall have an opportunity to meet with new employees within their first four shifts to provide Union orientation. This meeting shall not exceed 15 minutes. 4.02 All employees covered by this Agreement shall as a condition of employment, upon completion of their respective probationary periods, become members of the Union and understood remain members in good standing in the Union during the term of this Agreement 4.03 The Union will advise the Employer in writing of the amount of its regular dues. The amount so advised shall continue to be deducted until changed by further written notice to the Employer. The Employer agrees that it will deduct each pay period, a sum equal to regular Union dues from each employee in the Bargaining Unit. Such deductions shall be remitted to the District Lodge of the" Union by the Parties hereto 15th of the following month together with a list of employees from whom such deductions were made. The list will include new hires and severances. The Employer will show the amount of the dues deducted on T-4 slips issued to employees. 4.04 The Employer will, at the time of making each remittance hereunder to the Financial Secretary of the Union, supply a statement showing the following information for employees from whose pay deductions have been made. (a) All monthly dues for members to be submitted in alphabetical order with total dues remitted, total hours worked during the remittance period, current address, postal code and Social Insurance Number (as long as the employee provides the Employer with written consent for the disclosure of his or her social insurance number). (b) The Employer further agrees that there shall be a compulsory checkit will supply all such information by way of electronic mail (e-off upon all Employees who come within mail), in the Unit to which this Agreement appliesformat designated by the Union, and it shall continue during hard copy, if so requested by the period of this ContractUnion. 10:02 (c) The Employer agrees to deduct supply the Union Dues from the earnings employee's names, addresses, postal codes, email address and telephone numbers, every January and every July of each Employee in the amount certified by the Treasurer of the Unionevery year. Where Union dues are to be changed, as certified by the Treasurer of the Union, the Employer shall implement such change to be effective the second payroll period immediately following written notification. 10:03 The Employer further agrees to deduct the amount that it will supply all such information by way of dues from each payroll period of each month electronic mail (e-mail) and remit the amount of dues hard copy, if so deducted to the Treasurer of the Union no later than seven (7) calendar days after which the dues are deducted. 10:04 The Treasurer of the Employer when remitting the dues deducted to the designated Officer of the Union, shall include a statement clearly setting forth the names of the Employees from whom the dues were deducted, also showing any additions or deletions in staff. Such information will be provided within three (3) weeks calendar months after employment. All employees who become members of the Union shall remain members of the Union during the term of this Agreement. 4:03 All employees, as a condition of employment, shall sign a form authorizing the deduction of dues or levies, and initiation or reinstatement fees of the Union. Such signing shall be carried out at the Union office or by the Shop Xxxxxxx prior to the commencement of employment. 4:04 The Company will deduct from each employee, the amount of dues or levies as authorized by the employee. Such dues shall be deducted from the first pay cheque of the month and forwarded to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Local Lodge of the Union by the 15th day of the following month, accompanied by a statement listing the names of the employees and their Social Insurance Number, for whom deductions were made and the amount of each newdeduction. 4:05 All deductions as required under this Article, shall be made in each calendar month the employee is employed by the Company. 4:06 All new employees who work five (5) days or more shall, as a condition of continued employment, pay dues for that month. Such dues shall be deducted from the new employee’s first pay cheque and forwarded with the next regular dues remittance to the Union. 4:07 Upon completion of three (3) calendar months employment, the Company shall deduct from the new employee the remaining levies, and initiation or reinstatement fees of the Union. 4:08 The Union agrees to indemnify and save harmless the Company for any claims made by employees in connection with dues or levies deducted and remitted to the Union office at the direction of the Union, or for any claims made in connection with the discharge of an employee at the direction of the Union, including any and all legal fees, costs and administrative charges that may be incurred by the Company as a result of complying with a direction issued by the Union pursuant to this Article.
