6 MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES. 6.01 It is the exclusive function of the Employer to manage, which function without limiting the generality of the foregoing; includes the right to determine employment; appointment; complement; organization; work methods and procedures; kinds and location of equipment; discipline and termination of employment; assignment; classification; job evaluation system; merit system; training and development; appraisal; and the principles and standards governing promotion, demotion, transfers, layoff, and re-appointment.

  • Department Responsibilities The use of sick leave may properly be denied if these procedures are not followed. Abuse of sick leave on the part of the employee is cause for disciplinary action. Departmental approval of sick leave is a certification of the legitimacy of the sick leave claim. The department head or designee may make reasonable inquiries about employee absences. The department may require medical verification for an absence of three (3) or more working days. The department may also require medical verification for absences of less than three (3) working days for probable cause if the employee had been notified in advance in writing that such verification was necessary. Agency shall, at its own expense, maintain operate, and provide power as needed upon Project completion at a minimum level that is consistent with normal depreciation and/or service demand and throughout the useful life of the Project. The useful life of the Project is defined in the Special Provisions. State may conduct periodic inspections during the life of the Project to verify that the Project is properly maintained and continues to serve the purpose for which federal funds were provided.
