Absences of a Statutory Holiday. Any employee scheduled to work on a statutory holiday, and who does not report for work, shall forfeit their holiday pay, unless the absence is due to illness verified by a doctor’s certificate, or due to bereavement, in which case the employee will receive statutory holiday pay as stipulated in Article 27.02 above.
