Common use of Accrual Paid Sick/Carer’s Leave Clause in Contracts

Accrual Paid Sick/Carer’s Leave. (a) An Employee is entitled to accrue an amount of paid personal/carer’s leave, for each completed 4 week period of continuous service with an Employer, of 1/26th of the number of nominal hours worked (as defined in the Workplace Relations Act 1996) by the Employee for the Employer during that 4 week period. (b) The maximum period that an Employee may accrue carer’s leave at any time is ten days, which maximum will be accrued on the completion of 12 months continuous service without the Employee having taken any time off during the 12 months. (c) Paid personal/carer’s leave accrues on a pro-rata basis for part time Employees.
