Xxxx Leave. For laid off employees, sick leave accruals shall remain on the books and be reinstated if such employees are reappointed. Whenever a person becomes ineligible for reemployment, and such person has not been re-employed, then, if at the point of layoff such person was eligible to receive a sick leave accrual payoff, such person shall be paid for existing sick leave accruals in accordance with Section 1408 of this Agreement.
Xxxx Leave. 1. Sick leave shall be credited annually to each teacher on the first day of employment as follows:
a. For the first year of service in the Center Grove Community School Corporation, ten (10) days;
b. For each succeeding year of service in the Center Grove Community School Corporation, eight (8) days.
2. A teacher who uses two (2) or fewer sick leave days during a school year and works at least 120 days during that school year shall be paid by the School Corporation a percentage of one day’s pay at the particular qualifying teacher’s then per diem rate based on the following table: SICK LEAVE DAYS USED DURING APPLICABL E Zero (0) 100% One (1) 90% Two (2) 80% Three (3) or more 0%
a. Payment, less applicable withholdings, shall be made to a qualifying teacher with the 22nd payroll for a particular school year.
b. Should this provision for payment be determined unlawful by any governmental authority with appropriate jurisdiction, then this subsequent Subsection (A2) of Article 4 shall cease and be null and void and any payments made by the Board in the current year to any teacher herein under will be refunded forthwith and all other provisions in this Agreement concerning sick leave shall remain in full force and effect.
c. If a teacher takes approved “Lost Pay” (leave of absence) that teacher will not be eligible to receive the per diem rate for one day as prescribed in the chart.
3. When teachers accumulate 200 sick days, at the beginning of the next school year the teacher shall be credited eight (8) more sick days. However, at the end of that school year, the sick days shall not carry over. Therefore, the maximum amount of accumulated sick days will remain at 200.
4. A teacher’s accumulated sick leave days remain available for use during the teacher’s employment, but no further payment will be made to a retiring teacher for accumulated, unused sick leave. Upon resignation, a teacher’s unused sick leave will be transferred to a subsequent School Corporation when applicable, upon request.
5. Sick leave days accumulated by a teacher prior to a leave of absence authorized under this Agreement shall remain credited to the teacher provided the teacher returns in accordance with the terms and conditions of the leave of absence provisions of this Agreement.
6. Accumulated sick leave days as provided for in this Article of the Agreement may be used for:
a. Personal and family illness.
Xxxx Leave. 1. Ten (10) sick days each succeeding year after the administrator receives ten the first year.
2. Unused sick leave days shall accumulate to a maximum of 186 days.
Xxxx Leave. For purposes of this subparagraph, the terms "illness" or "injury" used in Article 19, Sick Leave, shall include medical disability related to pregnancy.
Xxxx Leave. All permanent full-time and permanent part-time employees shall be eligible for sick leave benefits for absences necessitated by illness, bodily injury (when not a Worker’s Compensation case), exposure to contagious disease (when confirmed by a physician) and serious illness, or death in the immediate family of the employee. The term “immediate” family shall be defined as: father, mother, wife, husband, children, father in law, mother in law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother, sister, step-parents, stepbrother, stepsister, grandparents, spouse’s grandparents, brother-in-law, sister-in- law, stepchildren or grandchildren. All such leave shall be subject to the following terms and conditions. All permanent full-time and permanent part-time employees who have designated a family partner shall also be eligible for sick leave pursuant to the provisions contained in this section except as otherwise provided herein. A family partner shall be defined as a person designated, in writing, by the employee as a family partner or that partner’s “immediate” family as defined above. The Mayor shall establish rules and procedures for such designation of family partners.
1. Sick leave shall be earned at the rate of one-half (1/2) days per biweekly pay period of service.
2. Xxxx leave credits may be accumulated to a total not to exceed 150 days, except as provided in H or I of this Article. The recording of such accumulation and any use thereof shall be in hours.
3. During the original employment probationary period, permanent full-time employees may draw in advance of the six (6) days sick leave credit which may be earned in the probationary period, provided such unearned leave shall be repaid to the City if the employee’s service is terminated prior to the completion of the probationary period.
4. In order to qualify for sick leave, an employee shall:
a. Notify his/her supervisor in advance of the absence.
b. Keep his/her supervisor informed of conditions and estimated day of return to work.
c. Submit a physician’s certificate for such absence upon request of the City for any excessive absences which exceed an accumulation of six (6) days in any twelve (12) month period and which are not related to major illness or injury. Any absence(s) supported by a physician’s, physician assistant’s, registered nurse’s or the specified primary or secondary child care provider’s statement shall not be counted toward the six (6) days. Xxxx Leave. Sick leave is defined as personal illness or disability of the teacher or illness or death of a member of the immediate family. "Immediate family" shall be defined as a spouse, parent, child, brother, sister, grandparent, parent-in-law, other close relative, or any relative or dependent who resided with the teacher's household. Each member of the instructional staff employed on a full-time basis shall be entitled to four (4) days of sick leave as of the first day of employment of each contract year and shall thereafter earn one day of sick leave for each month of employment, which shall be credited to the member at the end of the month and which shall not be used prior to the time it is earned and credited to the member; provided, that the member shall be entitled to earn no more than one (1) day of sick leave times the number of months of employment during the year of employment; provided, that such leave shall be taken only when necessary because of sickness as herein prescribed. Such sick leave shall be cumulative from year to year, and provided further, there shall be no limit on the number of days of sick leave a member of the instructional staff may accrue. Summer school employees working full-time shall accumulate sick leave at the already established rate. The number of accrued sick leave days is provided and is available to each individual through the HR Portal program.
Xxxx Leave. Members of the bargaining unit employed by the District five days per week with full pay for a fiscal year shall be entitled to 12 days leave of absence for illness or injury, excluding those days they are not required to render service. "Day," as used in this Article, is defined as the employee's regularly assigned workday, exclusive of overtime.
1. Members of the bargaining unit employed less than a full fiscal year and/or less than five days a week are entitled to that proportion of 12 days leave of absence for illness or injury as the number of months and/or number of days a week they are employed bear to 12 months.
2. Permanent Employees: Pay for any hour(s) or day(s) of illness or injury need not be accrued prior to taking such leave by the permanent employee and such leave may be taken at any time during the employee's assigned work year. Probationary Employees: Probationary employees of the District shall not be eligible to take more than six days of sick leave during the first year, or the proportionate amount for which they may be eligible (based on FTE equivalent and probationary 6-day maximum), and/or have earned prior to use.
3. If a member of the bargaining unit does not take the full amount of leave allowed in any year, the amount not taken shall be accumulated from year-to-year.
4. Members of the bargaining unit absent due to illness or injury must follow the procedures established by their immediate supervisor to notify their department of intent to be absent, the nature of the illness or injury, and the anticipated duration of the illness or injury, as soon as possible, prior to the start of the work shift. Sick leave notification shall not occur any later than one hour, before the start of the work shift, in order to be eligible for paid illness or injury leave. Work shifts which start after 2:00 PM must provide supervisor leave notification no later than 12:00 noon.
5. Members of the bargaining unit requesting paid illness or injury leave may be periodically required, at the discretion of their immediate supervisor, to provide medical statements on forms supplied by the District. The medical cost will be borne by the employee. Members of the bargaining unit absent due to illness or injury, or for more than five consecutive workdays may be required to submit a medical release to their immediate supervisor and/or the Personnel Office, prior to being permitted to return to work. Xxxx Leave. All employees covered by this Agreement and eligible for sick leave with pay shall be entitled to the use of sick leave as provided herein.
Xxxx Leave. 1. All full-time employees working five (5) days per week shall be entitled to ten
