Taking sick leave - notice. (1) To be entitled to sick leave during a period, an Employee must give his or her Employer notice in accordance with clause 5. 3.4.1 herein, that the Employee is (or will be) absent from his or her employment during the period because of a personal illness, or injury, of the Employee. (2) The notice must be given to the Employer within 24 hours of the commencement of the leave.

Taking sick leave - notice. (1) To be entitled to sick leave during a period, an employee must give his or her employer notice in accordance with clause 22.1 herein, that the employee is (or will be) absent from his or her employment during the period because of a personal illness, or injury, of the employee. (2) The notice must be given to the employer within 24 hours of the commencement of the leave. 22.2.1 Sick leave/xxxxx’s leave - Registered Health Practitioner’s Certificate/Declaration Sick leave - the employee must give the employer either: (a) within 24 hours of the commencement of sick leave, a medical certificate from a registered health practitioner stating that in the registered health practitioner’s opinion, the employee was, is, or will be unfit for work because of a personal illness or injury; or (b) if it is not reasonably practicable for the employee to give the employer a medical certificate—a statutory declaration made by the employee within 24 hours of the commencement of sick leave. (c) the medical certificate or the declaration must be given to the employer as soon as reasonably practicable (which may be at a time before or after the sick leave has started), and it must include a statement to the effect that:- (i) if the required document is a medical certificate—in the registered health practitioner’s opinion, the employee was, is, or will be unfit for work during the period because of a personal illness or injury; or (ii) if the required document is a statutory declaration—the employee was, is, or will be unfit for work during the period because of a personal illness or injury.   • Vacation; Sick Leave During the Employment Term, the Executive shall be entitled to not less than four (4) weeks of vacation during each calendar year and sick leave in accordance with the Company’s policies and practices with respect to its executives.

  • Cumulative Sick Leave The normal cumulative sick leave allowance each year shall be ten (10) days for employees on thirty-eight (38) through forty-two (42) week assignments. Teachers on eleven (11) and twelve (12) month assignments shall receive one (1) day per month up to a maximum of twelve (12) days each year. A teacher shall be permitted to carry forward the unused portion of sick leave without limit. The balance of accumulated sick leave shall be printed on the teacher's bi-weekly statement of earnings.

  • Compensation for Holidays Falling Within Vacation Schedule If a paid holiday falls on or is observed during an Employee's vacation period, she shall be allowed an additional vacation day with pay at a time mutually agreed upon by the Employer and the Employee.

  • Extended Sick Leave When sick leave extends for more than 25 consecutive working days, the appointing authority shall initiate the following procedure:

  • Proportionate Leave on Termination Where an employee has given one week or more continuous service, inclusive of any day off as prescribed by clause 21 - Hours of work (excluding overtime), and he/she either leaves his/her employment or his/her employment is terminated by the employer he/she shall be paid one-twelfth of an ordinary week’s wages in respect of each completed week of continuous service with his/her current employer for which leave has not been granted or paid for in accordance with this Agreement.

  • Paid Sick Leave For those jurisdictions that have passed or will pass legislation requiring Paid Sick Leave, Paid Sick Time will be billed back to Client at the straight-time bill rate for all hours taken by any Consultant assigned to Client. This section is not applicable until the effective date of such legislation has been reached.

  • Unused Sick Leave The accrual of unused sick leave hours is unlimited. The City and the Union commit to the evaluation and establishment of a mutually beneficial non-use of sick leave incentive and pay-out policy. Until such time that a policy is established, accumulated sick leave shall be compensated as follows: Upon retirement from the City service, an employee shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated sick leave, with the rate of payment based upon his regular pay at the time he retires. Upon the death of an employee, his beneficiary shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated unused sick leave, with the payment based upon his regular pay at the date of his death.

  • Callback from Vacation ‌ (a) Employees who have commenced their annual vacation shall not be called back to work, except in cases of extreme emergency. (b) When, during any vacation period, an employee is recalled to duty, he/she shall be reimbursed for all reasonable expenses incurred by himself/herself, in proceeding to his/her place of duty and in returning to the place from which he/she was recalled upon resumption of vacation, upon submission of receipts to the Employer. (c) Time necessary for travel in returning to his/her place of duty and returning again to the place from which he/she was recalled shall not be counted against his/her remaining vacation time.

  • Sick Leave Use An employee shall be granted sick leave with pay to the extent of the employee's accumulation for absences necessitated by the following conditions:

  • Accrued 100% sick leave The use of sick leave under this subsection is at the employee's discretion.
