Acting Assignment Pay. a. Employees assigned in writing by the Department Head or designee to perform a substantial portion of the duties and responsibilities of a higher classification shall receive compensation at a higher salary if the employee is assigned to perform the duties of a higher classification for ten (10) consecutive working days, after which acting assignment pay shall be retroactive to the first (1st) day of the assignment.
