Additional Bereavement Leave. An employee may receive an unpaid leave of absence or use vacation leave credits and/or personal leave credits to extend bereavement leave due to the death of an immediate or extended family member. The request must be submitted, in writing, to the Superintendent of Highways. The Superintendent of Highways shall have total discretion in the approval of such additional bereavement leave.
Additional Bereavement Leave. The request must be submitted, in writing, to the employee’s Department Head. The employee’s Department Head shall have total discretion in the approval of such additional bereavement leave.
Additional Bereavement Leave. Leave up to a maximum of five (5) days chargeable against Compensable Leave days will be granted in case of the death of a teacher’s father, mother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, spouse, children, xxxxxx child, brother, sister, grandparents, or grandchildren.
Additional Bereavement Leave. 1. The District recognizes the need for additional bereavement leave on occasion. An employee may request one (1) additional non-accumulative bereavement day per year through the Human Resources Office. If this day has been used, an employee’s next option would be to use a personal leave day, or if none available, up to one (1) emergency leave day as per Section 6.1 G above.
2. If situations where personal problems are a result of bereavement, the staff member may be granted an extended leave of absence without pay, upon approval of the Superintendent of Schools. Such an extended leave shall not exceed ninety (90) days and the staff member shall maintain his/her place on the salary schedule.
Additional Bereavement Leave. A regular, full-time, permanent Employee in full-pay status and actively at work performing assigned duties shall be granted by the Chief of Police one day of Bereavement Leave with pay to attend funeral of grandchild, aunt, uncle, nephew, niece, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and cousin of the first degree.
Additional Bereavement Leave. A regular, full-time, permanent Employee shall be granted by the Chief of Fire one (1) day of Bereavement Leave to attend the funeral of grandparents, and grandparents of Employee’s spouse.
Additional Bereavement Leave. Additional days leave granted beyond the maximum allowed hours will be used from accrued paid time off. Supervisor approval for additional days off is required.
Additional Bereavement Leave. The situation requiring use of emergency leave must be serious, essentially unavoidable, where preplanning is not possible, of major importance, and not for the mere convenience of the employee.
Additional Bereavement Leave. Personal leave days may be used for days needed in addition to the approved days allowed for members of the immediate family, or to attend the funeral of a close friend or relative not listed for approved bereavement leave.
Additional Bereavement Leave. If additional bereavement leave is required, an employee may use up to three (3) days annually from their health leave bank. Should more than six (6) days total be required for a bereavement leave, the residual amount may be claimed in the following calendar year to the annual maximum of three (3) days.
