Additional Bereavement Leave. An employee may receive an unpaid leave of absence or use vacation leave credits and/or personal leave credits to extend bereavement leave due to the death of an immediate or extended family member. The request must be submitted, in writing, to the employee’s Department Head. The employee’s Department Head shall have total discretion in the approval of such additional bereavement leave.
