Common use of Annual Leave Sharing Program for Catastrophic Illness Clause in Contracts

Annual Leave Sharing Program for Catastrophic Illness. A leave contribution program is established to permit employees to transfer a specified amount of annual leave to another employee of Yakima County. The recipient employee must have an extraordinary or serious illness or injury; have depleted or shortly will deplete all leave reserves (annual leave, sick leave or compensatory time); have diligently attempted to accrue sick leave; and not be eligible for industrial insurance benefits. The donating employee may not request transferred amount that would result in his or her leave balance falling below ten (10) days. Unused leave is returned to donating employees on a pro-rata basis. This provision shall be administered by the Human Resources Department.
