Rest Breaks and Meal Periods. 1. Employees will be allowed two (2) fifteen (15) minutes paid rest periods each day; one (1) period before and one (1) period after the lunch break. The rest periods will be scheduled at the middle of each one-half (1/2) shift or as close thereto as is feasible. 2. Employees will be granted a meal period during each work shift. Whenever possible the meal periods shall be scheduled at the middle of the shift or as close thereto as is feasible. Employees on jobs which have paid meal periods will continue to have such paid meal breaks. 3. Employees required to remain available or to perform work during their meal period will be paid for same. The shifts presently operating on this basis will continue to do so.

Rest Breaks and Meal Periods for those employees assigned to work eight (8) or ten (10) hour shifts, they shall be allowed two fifteen-minute breaks and one-half hour meal period. Employees shall be subject to call to respond to non-scheduled work duties which arise during such rest breaks and meal periods and which require immediate attention. Employees assigned to work twelve (12) hour rotating shifts shall be allowed two fifteen minute rest breaks and two forty minute meal periods per shift, but said employees are subject to call to respond to non-scheduled work duties arising during the breaks and meal periods.
Rest Breaks and Meal Periods. On any day in which you are scheduled to work more than 5 hours you will have an unpaid meal period of at least 30 minutes in length. If you should work more than 10 hours in a day, you will be entitled to a second meal break, in accordance with California law. You will also be authorized and permitted to take ten-minute paid rest breaks according to applicable state law. Please check with your supervisor for clarification as to how to allocate time between classes if you have questions about this.

If the additional overtime is estimated to be less than one (1) hour the Employer may elect to give the break at the end of the work. Rest Breaks and Meal Periods. The Medical Center and the nurses 31 shall be responsible for working together to arrange suitable breaks 32 and meal periods. Nurses agree to 9 communicate to the Charge Nurse, Clinical Coordinator or House 10 Supervisor in a timely manner if they anticipate not being able to take 11 a meal period. Nurses may combine two (2) consecutive rest breaks, 12 if staffing permits, on ten (10) or twelve (12) hour shifts (this is not 13 considered a meal period and may not replace the designated meal 14 period). If no meal period is provided by the Medical Center the nurse 15 will complete the appropriate payroll notification process and will be 16 paid for the missed meal period.

Rest Breaks and Meal Periods. Per the State of Washington Department of Labor and Industries Administrative Policy for Meal and Rest Periods, referring directly to RCW 49.12 and WAC 296.126.092, the following shall be made available to employees, upon the discretion and prior approval of management. A. Employees shall be allowed to schedule and combine their two (2) fifteen minute rest breaks and their thirty (30) minute lunch break in any of the scenarios listed below as long as the practice does not result in operational inefficiency and is approved by management. Management reserves its right to restrict or modify this practice if the practice of any or all the divisions represented in this contract results in operational inefficiency. Management will notify the Union a minimum of two (2) weeks prior to the implementation of the restriction or modification.
