Common use of Annuity in Lieu of Health Insurance Clause in Contracts

Annuity in Lieu of Health Insurance. During the term of this Agreement, for full-time and regular part-time employees who are eligible for hospitalization insurance, the Employer agrees to provide an annuity in lieu of health insurance. The annuity in lieu of health insurance will be linked to the cap for a single subscriber in the General Unit. The annuity in lieu of health insurance shall be two-thirds (2/3) the rate of the cap for a single subscriber in the General Unit. In addition, subject to carrier’s rules, employees will also have the option to increase the amount toward the annuity as follows: ▪ An additional thirty dollars ($30.00) per month if an employee elects to drop both the dental and drug riders. ▪ An additional twenty dollars ($20.00) per month if an employee elects to drop the drug rider, but maintains the dental rider. ▪ An additional ten dollars ($10.00) per month if an employee elects to drop the dental rider, but maintains the drug rider.
