ASSOCIATION AND TEACHER RIGHTS. A. ASSOCIATION AND TEACHER RIGHTS. A. 2.1 Nothing contained herein shall be construed to deny or restrict to any teacher the rights he/she may have under the Michigan General School Laws or other applicable laws and regulation. The Associationrights granted to teachers hereunder shall be deemed to be in addition to those provided elsewhere.

2.3 Duly authorized representatives of the Association and their respective affiliates shall be permitted to transact official Association business upon obtaining written approval on school property at all reasonable times, provided that this shall not interfere with or interrupt normal school operations. Representatives of affiliated groups of the Principal Association who are not employees of that buildingthe school district shall be permitted to visit school premises to transact official Association business, providing that provided they first report to the Superintendent’s office, or his/her designated representative. Permission shall not be withheld if in the opinion of representative(s) of the affiliated group will not interfere with or interrupt normal school operations.
2.4 The Association officers, executive committee, and building representatives shall have the right to use school facilities and equipment including, but not limited to, computers, typewriters, Xerox machines, other duplication machines, calculating equipment, video cameras, all types of audio-visual equipment, video cassette recorders, televisions and telephones at times when such equipment is not otherwise in use. The Association shall pay for the reasonable advance notice is given requesting cost of all materials and supplies incident to such use. The Association shall make a written request for the use of all facilities to the building. It is understood that approval will only be given building administrator who has the direct responsibility for meetings held when school is not in session and not in conflict with scheduled activitiessaid facilities.
C. 2.5 The Association shall have the right to post notices of activities and its representatives shall be granted the use matters of office and audio-visual equipment upon obtaining written approval each time from the building principal. Equipment shall be used in the building in Association concern on teacher bulletin boards, at least one of which it is normally housed.
D. The Association shall be provided in each school building. The Association may use the district mail service and teacher mailboxes for communications to teachers. After delivery of the material to a building a bulletin board for it shall be the express purpose responsibility of posting notices the Association or its designated representative to carry on see that the material is distributed to Association business, such as notices of meetings, educational programs, etcmembers.
E. 2.6 The Board agrees to shall make readily available to the Association, in response to reasonable requests, Association all information which is available information that is of public record pertaining to the operation of Bangor Township Schools. Such requests will be responded to in written format public, as outlined in the required under Freedom of Information Act, Article 15.235, Act (FOIA) and Section 5Public Employment Relations Act (PERA). The administration will charge a reasonable copy fee for all such information.

It is understood that approval will only may be given for meetings held when school is the opportunity to advise the Board with respect to said matters prior to their adoption and/or general publication. Said Association’s advice will not in session and not in conflict with scheduled activitiesbe binding upon the Board.
C. The Association and its representatives shall be granted have the use of the mailboxes in each building for the purpose of distributing Association material. The use of the mailboxes shall in no way be conducted by Association members during the school day when it would interfere with their regular assigned duty or hours. Office employees shall not be used for this purpose. The Association shall also have the use of interschool mail, building to building, provided that such use does not conflict with U.S. postal regulations, and provided it does not interfere with the assigned duties of teachers. In the event of conflict with U.S. postal regulations, the Association shall hold the school district and the Board of Education harmless and indemnify against any and all legal fees, costs, and judgments. The Board of Education or their representatives bear no responsibility for the actual delivery, or timing of delivery, or the sorting of the delivery. The Association shall have the right to a bulletin board in the teachers’ lounge in each building. The Association shall have a right to use a room for Association meetings with the prior consent of the Building Principal and provided that it does not conflict with the educational program or the ordinary work schedule of the custodian. D. Teachers shall not meet with representatives of the MEA or other Association officials who are not employed by the Lakeshore Public Schools, during the working day. All Association business shall be conducted outside of the working day. R: 80
E. The administration will reserve time after school working hours on Mondays for meetings of the Association. The administration may utilize this time if the Association is not utilizing it. Teachers will be allowed to leave their assigned work areas five (5) minutes after students leave, to attend scheduled NBCEA meetings. The Association will be responsible for keeping the Superintendent and/or his/her representatives informed of all meetings. R: 94
F. The Association may use school office and audio-visual equipment upon obtaining written approval each time from (i.e., typewriters, computers, duplication equipment), if available, for Association business. Such use must be approved in advance by the building principaladministrator or Superintendent. Equipment The Association shall comply with all laws, board policy and administrative regulation regarding the safe and appropriate use of all equipment. At no time shall students or office personnel be used in the building in which it is normally housed.

F. The teachers shall be entitled to full rights of citizenship and no religious or political activities of any teacher, or the lack thereof, shall be grounds for any discipline or discrimination with respect to the professional employment of such teacher, provided such activities are not carried on within the confines of the school and/or school grounds during normal teaching hours, and/or school-connected activities, and further provided that such activities shall not result in time off the job.89
G. The Superintendent Board will furnish to the Association and every teacher, the names, addresses and telephone numbers of Schools or his designee shall meet bi-monthly with all members of the designated association representative on matters concerning bargaining unit by October 15. Employees, by written notice to the operation of Bangor Township SchoolsSuperintendent’s Office, may withhold their addresses and telephone numbers from the list.
H. The District will notify teachers of their right to Association President will be notified of each Board of Education Meetingrepresentation as per the Federal Xxxxxxxxxx Act.

ASSOCIATION AND TEACHER RIGHTS. A. 4.01 The Association, on its own behalf, hereby retains and reserves unto itself, without agreements in this Contract shall supersede any rules or regulations of the Board if such rules or regulations are contrary to or inconsistent with the terms recorded herein. Within budgetary limitations, all powers, rights, authority, duties and responsibilities conferred upon and invested in it by the School Code and the Public Acts and Laws this Contract shall not be interpreted or applied to deprive teachers of the State, the Constitution of the State of Michigan and/or United Statesany professional advantage.
B. 4.02 The Association and its representatives shall be granted have the use of a room in a designated school building for Association business upon obtaining written approval of the Principal of that building, providing that reasonable advance notice is given requesting right to the use of the building. It is understood that approval will only be given school buildings for meetings held when if a written request has been made to the school is not in session principal for scheduling purposes. Representatives must be accompanied by a member of the Association. If any special non-instructional personnel services are necessary over and not in conflict with scheduled activitiesabove their normal services because of such meetings, the Association shall be billed for any actual costs of such services, including any applicable overtime pay expended.
C. 4.03 The Superintendent or his designee shall meet with representatives of the Association, whenever reasonably requested by either party, to discuss matters relating to the implementation of this contract and educational policy. Other matters may also be discussed upon mutual agreement. Attendance at these meeting shall consist of no more than six (6) people -- three (3) from each party. These meetings will in no way bypass the negotiations or grievance procedures.
4.04 Duly authorized representatives of the Association and its representatives respective affiliates shall be granted permitted to transact official Association business on school property during the times defined below:
1. Lunch Period.
2. Time before and after the student day.
3. Times when teachers are not responsible for the direct supervision of students. If the representative is not employed by the school, upon arrival at the school, he/she shall first report to the principal's office for making such arrangements as the principal or his or her designee deems necessary to avoid interference with the school program or with teacher assignments.
4.05 The Association shall have the right to equal use of the school system's mail services, including teacher mailboxes, for communication with teachers. The Association office shall be a stop on the Board's mail service routes. The Association shall encourage all teachers to use the District’s electronic mail system in a professional and responsible manner.
4.06 The Association shall have the right to use the school's equipment. The Association shall provide its own materials and supplies. The Association shall arrange the use of office and audio-visual this equipment upon obtaining written approval each time from with the building principalsupervisor in charge in order to avoid interfering with the school program. Equipment The president or his/her designee shall be used the only ones to use the county machines. 4.07 The Board agrees to furnish copies of any Board-related public documents reasonably requested by the Association at the cost established in the building printing schedule, "Outside Copying-In-School Personnel.” The term "In School Personnel" shall be applicable only to printing. The Board further agrees to provide the Association public documents supplied to the press in which it is normally housedconnection with Board meetings, plus a copy of the Board agenda and supplemental packet, (excluding employee application and reference forms) upon publication, without cost. In addition, the Board shall provide the Association access to all public records not exempted by Florida Statutes within one working day of such request. Two copies of the school system directory will be supplied to the Association without cost no later than ten (10) days following the first teacher payday. The Association may obtain additional copies by bearing the cost of printing charges.
D. 4.08 The Board will provide the Association shall be provided in each building a bulletin board for with the express purpose names and addresses of posting notices to carry on Association business, such all new teachers and all retiring teachers as notices of meetings, educational programs, etcsoon as the data are available.
E. 4.09 The Board agrees to make available Credit Union deductions from teachers' salaries as requested by the individual in writing. Change(s) in such deduction(s) will be made provided written notification from the Credit Union is submitted to Board Payroll Department according to the Association, in response Board approved Master Pay Date Schedule. This provision shall not apply to reasonable requests, all available information that is of public record pertaining new enrollees. Said deductions shall be transmitted to the operation Credit Union as soon as practicable. However, the check will be available the day of Bangor Township Schoolsdeduction.
4.10 The Association as bargaining agent shall be granted all rights and privileges as set forth in the Statement of Recognition by PERC and the Public Employee Relations Act, Florida Statues 447. The rights granted to the Association herein are for its exclusive use and for no other organization purporting to represent teachers.
4.11 Any medical expenses incurred by a teacher for physical examinations, inoculations, and tests that may be required by the School Board and not required by State Statutes shall be borne by the Board.
4.12 Upon appropriate written authorization from the teacher, the Board shall deduct authorized sums from the salary of any teacher and make proper remittance for any payroll deduction program approved by the Board.
4.13 The Board agrees to provide professional development opportunities through the Professional Development Department and operate it within the provisions of Florida Statutes. The Association shall recommend teacher members of the Council to the Superintendent for appointment by the Board.
