Association Office. A leave of absence of up to one (1) year may be granted upon application for the purpose of serving as an officer of the Association or an officer in its state or national affiliate. If permitted by the Michigan Public School Employee’s Retirement Act, with an unpaid leave of absence for Association office, the bargaining unit member will be eligible to contribute to the Michigan Public School Employee's Retirement System (MPSERS) during the term of the unpaid leave.
