Assumption of Lower Grade Position. If a laid-off employee assumes or rejects a position in a lower grade, or rejects a position that would cause substantial difficulty because of a different work location or work schedule, the employee shall retain recall rights to a position in the same classification as the one from which she/he was laid off when a vacancy occurs.
