Common use of (b) UNION SECURITY AND MEMBERSHIP Clause in Contracts

(b) UNION SECURITY AND MEMBERSHIP. The Union shall notify the Employer in writing that an employee has failed to acquire and maintain membership in the Union and shall provide the Employer with a copy of the final warning to the affected employee that he or she has not acquired and maintained membership in the Union. In the event the employee fails or refuses to tender the dues and fees on which he or she is delinquent within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt by the Employer of such notice, the Employer shall discharge said employee. The aforementioned time periods may be extended by mutual agreement of the Employer and the Union.
