UNION SECURITY AND CHECKOFF. 5:01 It shall be a condition of continued employment for all employees including probationary employees, as defined in Article 2, to become members and maintain membership in good standing in the Union.
5:02 The Corporation agrees to deduct from the earnings of all employees, including probationary employees, covered by this Agreement, an amount each month as dues and upon completion of the probationary period an amount for the initiation fee. The amount of such dues and initiation fees shall be advised in writing by the I.B.E.W., Local 2351 and changes to such amounts shall be advised not less than four (4) weeks prior to the effective date. Dues collected shall be remitted within ten (10) days after each pay period, to the designated official of the Union along with a statement of the names, in alphabetical order, and amounts deducted from each employee. The statement will also include the names of employees whose wages are insufficient to permit such deduction and the Corporation will only be obligated to make such deduction from the immediate subsequent pay period. Employees on recall status must be members in good standing of the Union in order to be recalled.
5:03 The Union agrees that neither it nor any of its officers or members will engage in Union activities on Corporation time, or Corporation work area, except as provided in this Agreement.
5:04 The Union shall indemnify and save the Corporation harmless against any and all claims, demands, suits or other forms of liability that shall arise from or by reason of action taken or not taken by the Corporation for the purpose of complying with this Article.
5:05 The Corporation will submit monthly to the Union a list of the dates of new hires, terminations and transfers to and from the Bargaining Unit for the previous month.
5:06 The Union agrees to furnish the Corporation with the names of all personnel including officers, representatives, stewards and committee people who are authorized to represent the Union in its relations with the Corporation.
5:07 The Corporation agrees to supply all employees with a copy of the Collective Agreement and will endeavour to do so within one (1) month after receipt from the printer.
5:08 The Corporation shall provide bulletin boards in designated areas for the posting of Union notices dealing with meetings, election of officers, appointments and committees, social affairs and other non-controversial matters dealing with the affairs of the Union. No bulletin shall ...
UNION SECURITY AND CHECKOFF. 1. The Employer agrees to deduct from the salary of each individual employee in the bargaining unit who voluntarily becomes a member, the Union's dues subject to all of the following:
A. The Union shall obtain from each of its members a completed checkoff authorization form which shall conform to the respective state and federal laws concerning that subject or any interpretations made thereof.
B. All checkoff authorization forms shall be filed with the Employer who may return any uncompleted or incorrectly completed form to the Union's Treasurer and no checkoff shall be made until such deficiency is corrected.
C. All other employees covered under this Agreement who do not voluntarily choose membership in the Union shall have deducted from their wages a percentage of the membership dues which sum shall be less than one hundred (100%) percent of said dues and which sum shall accurately represent the amount for said employee due the Union as their fair share of costs attributable to negotiating the terms of this Agreement, which sum shall not include, by way of example, but not by way of limitation, state, national, or other dues and assessments or other amounts for other Union activities.
D. The Employer shall checkoff only obligations which come due at the time of checkoff, and will make checkoff deduction only if the.employee has enough pay due to cover such obligation, and will not be responsible for refund to the employee if he has duplicated a checkoff deduction by direct payment to the Union.
E. The Employer's remittance will be deemed correct if the Union does not give written notice to the Employer within two (2) calendar weeks after a remittance is sent, of its belief, with reasons stated therefore, that the remittance is incorrect.
F. Any employee covered by the terms of this Agreement may join or terminate membership in the Union by written notice to the Employer and the amount owing the Union shall reflect accordingly with the next payment from the employee due the Union.
G. The Union shall provide at least thirty (30) days written notice to the Employer of the amount of Union dues and/or representation fee to be deducted from the wages of the County employees as in accordance with this Article. Any change in the amounts determined will also be provided to the Employer at least thirty (30) days prior to its implementation.

UNION SECURITY AND CHECKOFF. A. Except as provided below, all Bargaining Unit Faculty covered by this Agreement, as set forth in Article 1.2(A), who do not voluntarily acquire and maintain membership in the Union, shall be required as a condition of continued employment to pay to the Union each month, beginning no later than thirty-one (31) days after the date of their first paycheck for teaching a credit-earning course or laboratory pursuant to their appointment as a Bargaining Unit Faculty member covered by this Agreement or after the ratification of this Agreement, whichever is later, an agency fee for teaching a credit-earning course or laboratory (a service charge as a contribution toward the cost of administration of this Agreement and representation by the Union). The amount of such agency fee shall be determined by the Union in accordance with applicable law, as percentage of full dues uniformly required to be paid as dues and initiation fees by those who choose to become members of the Union. Agency fees shall be deducted from compensation earned for teaching a credit-earning course or laboratory, i.e. not from compensation for administrative duties.
B. Payment of union dues or agency fees, voluntary contribution to the SEIU Local 1021 Committee on Political Education (COPE), or contributions to a charitable organization selected from the following list approved by the College and the Union, may be made by all Bargaining Unit Faculty via the check-off procedure provided by this Article. Charitable organizations include: Lasallian Volunteers, East Bay Scholarship Fund, De Marillac Academy, Lasallian Education Fund, De La Salle Blackfeet Indian School (Montana).
C. Each payday that the Bargaining Unit Faculty member receives a paycheck for teaching a credit-earning course or laboratory, the College shall, during the term of this Agreement, deduct from Bargaining Unit Faculty member’s compensation for teaching a credit-earning course or laboratory, a sum of dues or fees owed to the Union for the month covered by that paycheck and authorized under federal labor law, provided the Bargaining Unit Faculty member has furnished the College a written assignment executed in accordance with the law.
D. The College shall remit the dues or fees to the Union along with a list of members and agency fee payers within the first ten (10) working days of the month following the month of collection.
UNION SECURITY AND CHECKOFF. A. As a condition of continued employment, all employees covered by this agreement shall become and remain members in good standing in the Union no later than thirty (30) days after the effective date of this agreement. It shall also be a condition of employment that all employees covered by this agreement hired after the effective date of this agreement become and remain members in good standing no later than thirty (30) days from their date of hire.
B. Upon notice from the Union, AAWW will deduct all Union membership dues from all employees who have signed the Union’s form authorizing dues deductions. The Union shall provide AAWW with the written authorization from the employees. AAWW shall notify the Union of any revocation of dues authorization received by it.
C. AAWW agrees to deduct from the pay of each employee voluntary contributions to UAW V-CAP, provided that each such employee executes or has executed an “Authorization for Assignment and Checkoff of Contributions to UAW V-CAP” form (hereafter “V-CAP form”). Deductions shall be made only in accordance with the provisions of and in the amounts designated in said V-CAP form, together with the provisions of this section of the Agreement. The minimum contribution shall be $1.00 per paycheck. A properly executed copy of the V-CAP form for each employee for whom voluntary contributions to UAW V-CAP are to be deducted hereunder shall be delivered to AAWW before any such deductions are made. Deductions shall be made thereafter only under the applicable V- CAP forms which have been properly executed and are in effect. AAWW agrees to remit said deductions promptly to UAW V-CAP, care of the International Union, UAW. AAWW further agrees to furnish UAW V-CAP with the names of those employees for whom deductions have been made.
D. The Union agrees that it will indemnify and hold harmless AAWW from any recovery of damages sustained by reason of any action taken under this section.
UNION SECURITY AND CHECKOFF.
A. All graduate employees who become employed by the University and covered by this Agreement and who fail voluntarily to acquire and maintain membership in the Union, shall be required as a condition of continued employment to pay to the Union each month, beginning no later than thirty-one (31) days after the date of their employment, or after the ratification of this Agreement, whichever is later, an Agency Fee (a service charge as a contribution toward the cost of administration of this Agreement and the representation of graduate employees) . The amount of such Agency Fee shall be the equivalent to the amount uniformly required to be paid as dues and initiation fees by those who choose to become members of the Union.
B. Payment of union dues and agency fees may be made via the check off procedure provided by this Agreement. The Union shall hold the University harmless for any action taken in connection with this Article or the enforcement thereof.
C. Upon receipt of a graduate employee’s written authorization, the University shall deduct from such graduate employee’s compensation in accordance with this Agreement, such Union Dues or Agency Fees and remit same together with a list of the names of the graduate employee from whose compensation deductions were made. The deduction shall be made in the first paycheck of the month. The University agrees to transmit the dues and agency fees deducted to the Union by the tenth (10th) day of the following month. The Union shall have the exclusive right of dues and agency fee checkoff for all graduate employees covered by the Agreement. In order for the deductions to be made, the authorization cards must be received by the University 's designated representative by the fifteenth (15th) day of the month preceding the month when the checkoff is to begin. The University is not required to make retroactive deductions if an employee is out on an unpaid leave of absence or other unpaid status. The Union will provide to the University a suitable form, signed by a graduate employee, for the authorization of payroll deductions.
UNION SECURITY AND CHECKOFF. 1. The Employer shall make payroll deductions from pay or wages of employees upon submission of a signed checkoff card for the employee. Amounts deducted shall be remitted to Ohio Council #8, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO. The Union shall advise the employer, in writing, of the amounts to be deducted. The Union shall designate, in writing, the address where the checkoff of monies shall be remitted. The payroll deduction shall be made by the employer bi-weekly. If an employee has insufficient pay or wages to satisfy the amount to be deducted, the employer will make successive deductions until the amount to be deducted has been satisfied. All dues and deductions shall be deposited via electronic ACH transfer payment into the commercial bank account of Ohio Council 8, AFSCME, AFL-CIO no later than fifteen (15) days following the end of the pay period in which the deduction is made. The Union shall provide the Employer with authorization to make deposits into the financial institution utilized by the Union along with the routing number and account number of the Union’s account. It is the Union’s responsibility to notify the Employer in writing of any change to the Union’s account information. Additionally, the Employer shall email, with each deduction and transmittal of dues/fees, the following lists of information in Excel or Text format to xx0xxxx@xxxxxx0.xxx, subject line: Local 2544, Pay date --/ --/ - -: Each remittance shall be accompanied by the following alphabetical lists: 1) For employees for which deductions were made, the name, address and social security number of the employee, and amount deducted; and 2) the name of each employee whose name has been dropped from the prior checkoff list and the reason for the omission.
2. The Union further agrees to save the University harmless from any legal action growing out of these checkoff deductions that may be instituted by an employee involved therein before a court, or any other body asserting or having jurisdiction, against the University and further agrees to reimburse the University for any financial payment adjudged by a court, or any other body asserting or having jurisdiction, against the University as well as costs and expenses involved in defense of any such action as set forth in this paragraph.

UNION SECURITY AND CHECKOFF. Section 1. Employees covered by this Agreement, as a condition of employment, shall become and thereafter remain members in good standing of the IATSE4 on and after the thirtieth day of their employment or thirty days following the execution of this Agreement, whichever is the later date. The foregoing shall be subject to and limited by applicable State law and to the extent that any applicable State law does not permit the form of union security herein provided, then and in that event, this Agreement shall be deemed to provide for the maximum form of union security permitted by said State law. “Members in good standing” shall be defined, interpreted and implemented by the parties as an employee who meets the financial obligations only in accordance with the provisions of the National Labor Relations Act.

The University will deduct periodic dues, initiation fees and assessments from the pay of members of the union covered by this Agreement upon receipt of individually signed cards authorizing such deduction for payment to the Union. Payroll deductions shall be made each pay period. In order to commence checkoff, the authorization card must be received by the appropriate administrator in charge of Employee/Labor Relations or their designee in the pay period for which the deduction is requested.
B. All dues deducted shall be deposited via electronic ACH transfer payment into the commercial bank account of Ohio Council 8, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO, no later than twenty (20) days following the end of the pay period in which the deduction is made. The Union shall provide the Employer with authorization to make deposits into the financial institution utilized by the Union, along with the routing number and account number of the Union’s account. It is the Union’s responsibility to notify the Employer in writing of any change to the Union’s account information. Such notification shall be provided to the Employer by AFSCME Ohio Council 8. In addition, the Employer shall email, with each deduction and transmittal of dues/fees, the following lists of information as is currently administered in excel or text format to xx0xxxx@xxxxxx0.xxx, subject line: Local 153, and the pay date:
1. DUES LIST: In alpha order by last name. The name, (or other unique identifier to be agreed upon), current address, phone number and department/work unit of each employee for whom a Union dues deduction was made; the amount of the deduction for each employee and the total amount of dues for all employees for the pay period.
UNION SECURITY AND CHECKOFF. 6.1 The Employer shall deduct Union Dues including, where applicable, initiation fees and assessments, on a monthly basis, from the wages of each Employee covered by this Agreement. The amount of dues shall be calculated in accordance with the Union’s Constitution. Each Employee in the bargaining unit shall be required, as a condition of employment, to have an amount equivalent to the regular weekly Union dues deducted from their pay in each pay period. All Employees shall become and remain members of the Union as a condition of employment.
6.2 All dues, initiation fees and assessments shall be remitted to the Union forthwith and in any event no later than fifteen (15) days following the last day of the month in which the remittance was deducted. The remittance shall be sent to the International Secretary- Treasurer of the United Steelworkers AFL-CIO-CLC, P.O. Box 9083 Commerce Court Postal Station, Toronto, Ontario, M5L 1K1 in such form as shall be directed by the Union to the University along with a completed Dues Remittance Form R-115. A copy of the Dues Remittance Form R-115 will also be sent to the Union office designated by the Area Coordinator.
6.3 The remittance and the R-115 shall be accompanied by a statement containing the following information:
(i) A list of the names of all Employees from whom Dues were deducted and the amount of Dues deducted;
(ii) A list of the names of all Employees from whom no deductions were made and the reasons why;
(iii) This information shall be sent to both the Union addresses identified in Article 6.2 above, in such form as shall be directed by the Union to the Employer.
6.4 The Union shall indemnify and save the University harmless against all claims or other forms of liability that may arise out of any actions taken by the University in compliance with this Article.
6.5 The Employer, when preparing T4 slips for the Employees, will enter the amount of Union Dues paid by the Employee during the previous year.
