Common use of Bargaining Representatives and Ratification Clause in Contracts

Bargaining Representatives and Ratification. In any negotiations described in this section, neither party shall have any control over the selection of the negotiation or bargaining representatives of the other party, and each party may select its representatives either from within or outside the school district. It is recognized that no final agreement between the parties may be executed without ratification by a majority of the Board of Education and by a majority of the membership of the Association, but the parties mutually pledge that representatives selected by each shall be clothed with all necessary power and authority to make proposals, consider proposals, and reach agreements in the course of negotiations or bargaining, subject only to such ultimate ratification.
