Number of Preparations. Unless the principal stipulates good cause, in writing, necessitating a deviation in scheduling, secondary teachers shall not be required to teach more than two subject areas or to have more than three teaching preparations at any one time.
Number of Preparations. 15.4.1 Site administrators shall minimize the number of subject matter preparations required of each secondary unit member (6-12), and shall consult with the unit member prior to assigning more than two different preparations. No unit member shall have four (4) or more preparations without his or her written consent, unless aide time is provided or other adjustments considered. Such considerations may include but are not limited to redistribution of students, assignment of aide time, provision of additional preparation time, or other similar action. Such action, however, shall be limited to that which is reasonably possible and is not overly disruptive to the education of the students. If action satisfactory to the teacher involved has not been initiated by a site administrator within five (5) working days after a written request has been made by the teacher, and upon request of the teacher, the site administrator and the teacher will meet with the Superintendent to determine what action may be taken to relieve the teacher’s load. Remedial action mentioned above shall also be applicable in grades 6- 12 in cases of excessive numbers of preparations (four [4] or more) as jointly determined by the teacher and site administrator. A preparation is specific and separate planning and preparation for a particular grade or class.
15.4.2 Reduced time unit members at grades 4 and 5 shall have proportional reduced preparation time per day as in Section 15.4.5.
15.4.3 Middle school and high school teachers shall be entitled to one (1) period per day for the purpose of preparing, planning, and upon prior arrangement, conferring with parents.
15.4.4 Reduced time unit members at the secondary school level, except for secondary school counselors, shall have reduced proportional preparation time per day set aside exclusively for preparation, planning, and upon prior arrangement, conferencing with parents and students.
15.4.5 Full time unit members at grades 4 and 5 shall have one preparation period per day of forty (40) minutes, thirty (30) of which shall be consecutive time, set aside exclusively for preparation and upon prior arrangement conferencing with parents. The prep time shall be exclusive of Section 15.3.3, duty-free lunch and pre- and post-school time.
Number of Preparations. Workload relative to the number of preparations shall be fair, reasonable, and equitable according to conventional past practices within the relevant disciplines or groups of disciplines. It is understood that the provisions of Section 6.3 and 6.3.1 shall not be subject to the grievance procedures of Article 17.
6.3.1 Disagreements about the number of course preparations required of a faculty member for a particular semester are to be resolved through informal meetings of the affected faculty member and the appropriate Xxxx. Either party may invite a member of the staff to assist in the resolution. Disagreements, which cannot be resolved in this manner, may be forwarded to the next administrative level for resolution. Disagreements not resolved at that level may be forwarded to the College President for final resolution. Appeal to the College President concludes the process for resolving disagreements about the number of course preparations. This procedure applies only to this section of the contract, unless specifically cited elsewhere.
Number of Preparations. The School District shall make every attempt to limit the number of preparations a teacher/ancillary staff shall have in any given semester. The number of preparations shall be distributed as equitably as possible within a discipline. Teachers/Ancillary staff teaching in multiple disciplines shall have no more than four preparations unless prior agreement is made with the individual teacher/ancillary staff and the Association.
Number of Preparations. 1. In establishing the teaching assignments of secondary Teachers, consideration shall be given to minimizing the number of different courses for which each Teacher shall be required to prepare.
2. Consideration shall be made to place first-year Teachers in courses within their areas of educational specialization.

A weekly advisory or homeroom period of no more than 30 minutes, for which no curricular preparation, assessment, or follow-up is required, shall not be considered subject matter preparation.
Number of Preparations. The administration will prepare a schedule for secondary teachers that should limit the number of subjects and preparations.
Number of Preparations. When the number of preparations exceeds the number of blocks in the school timetable, an additional preparation period will be provided.
Number of Preparations a. Except for teacher assignment preference no teacher shall be required to prepare more than five (5) different courses at the middle school and junior secondary level or more than three (3) different courses in each semester at the senior secondary level.
