Common use of Benefits During Illness Clause in Contracts

Benefits During Illness. In cases of absence due to illness or injury, the Municipality will continue to pay the premium cost of the employee’s health and welfare benefits for up to fifteen (15) months from the first day of absence. Thereafter, the employee may elect to pay his own benefit premiums in accordance with the terms and conditions of the master insurance policies so long as the individual’s employment status continues with the Municipality. All Extended Health Benefits, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance coverage will continue for the duration of any approved long term disability claim.
