Birth or Care of a Child. A family or medical leave of up to twelve (12) work weeks for the birth/care of a child, placement of a child for adoption or xxxxxx care, shall expire at the end of the twelve (12) month period which starts on the date of such birth or placement of adoption or xxxxxx care. However, regardless of when the leave starts, it will expire no later than the end of the twelve (12) month period. For example, an employee who requests a leave at the start of the 12th month (of the twelve (12) month period from the date of birth or placement) is entitled to only four (4) weeks of unpaid leave.
