Common use of Break in Service and Seniority Clause in Contracts

Break in Service and Seniority. Retirement of a teacher from the District will be considered a break in service, and a teacher who is later rehired will be considered a newly hired teacher. Such a teacher will not acquire seniority, and will not have recall rights in the event the teacher is subject to a reduction in force.
