College Credit Plus. A. College Credit Plus (“CCP”) will be implemented in accordance with the requirements set forth in Ohio Revised Code Chapter 3365 and Ohio Administrative Code 3333-1-65 et. seq. B. A teacher who wishes to teach a CCP course must meet the requirements established by the Ohio Board of Regents, which, as of December 2015, are: possess a master’s degree in the content area or a master’s degree in a different discipline plus 18 or more hours of continuing education in the content area. Every teacher who wishes to teach a CCP course must be approved by the college/university through which the CCP course is offered. C. The teaching of College Credit Plus shall be on a voluntary basis for those teachers who are qualified to teach. The opportunity to teach any course offered by the District through College Credit Plus shall be offered, following the language in Article IX, Section 9.06 (F and G), filling supplemental positions, to all teachers who are qualified to teach the course as set forth in paragraph (B). 1. All teachers shall be informed of any College Credit Plus (CCP) courses to be offered to the students through e-mail. 2. Interested and qualified teachers will have five (5) work days to notify their Administrator in writing that they are interested. 3. No teacher who fails to express written interest will be assigned a College Credit Plus (CCP) course. 4. Final decision will be made by the Superintendent. D. If a teacher who is approved to teach a CCP course is required to visit the participating college/university outside the regular workday and/or work year, the teacher shall be paid his/her per diem rate of pay for such time plus mileage at the District rate of reimbursement. E. The class size limits set forth in Article XV of the negotiated agreement shall apply to any CCP class that does not involve distance learning. F. Any observation conducted by the participating college/university shall not be used in the District’s evaluation of the teacher under Article XVII of the negotiated agreement. G. No teacher shall be reduced or RIF’d because of an adjunct or non-staff member being sub-contracted.

College Credit Plus. Any classes offered by the District to students through the College Credit Plus program shall first be offered to bargaining unit members in accordance with this Agreement. If no bargaining unit member is qualified, pursuant to the requirements of the program, the Board may arrange for such class(es) to be taught by non-bargaining unit members. In such instances, however, the Board must first seek volunteers who are interested in becoming dual-certified and shall pay the costs associated therewith. All employees teaching any College Credit Plus class shall be SSLTA bargaining unit members.
College Credit Plus. A. Teaching a course that qualifies for College Credit Plus (CPP) shall be voluntary on the part of the teacher. If the district has paid for Master or credentialing classes, by mutual agreement between the district and the teacher, for the purpose of the teacher to teach CCP classes, the teacher while employed by the district, may be required to teach CCP classes for a minimum of five (5) years or repay the actual cost of the Master or credentialing classes equal to the amount paid by the district or grant. During the same five-year period, teachers who leave the district to be employed by a contiguous district, may be required to repay the same. B. Teachers of CCP courses shall be given release time or compensation at summer school rate (if the day is outside of their contracted time) to attend all professional development workshops or conferences related to their CCP course offered or recommended by their host college. C. Students enrolled in a CCP course should meet all entrance requirements required by the host college. D. No existing bargaining unit position shall be eliminated and no bargaining unit employee shall be displaced as a result of the district's participation in CCP. E. All CCP teachers will be given the opportunity to use one (1) professional leave day per CCP class taught during the school year to complete required administrative responsibilities (grading for course aligning curriculum, preparing for observations, etc.) This day can be taken at a time requested by that teacher but should not be the first or last day of the week or in the month of May, not to exceed three (3) professional leave days per teacher per year.
College Credit Plus. 1. The opportunity to teach College Credit Plus courses shall be offered to all teachers who are qualified to teach a course. 2. No teacher will be required to become credentialed to teach a CCP course. 3. A teacher qualifying to teach a course shall be offered a professional development day to meet with the college instructor. Mileage shall be reimbursed at the district rate. 4. A teacher who teaches a CCP course will receive a stipend of five hundred dollars ($500.00) for the first course and one hundred dollars ($100) for each additional CCP course taught. Stipend payable at the end of the course.
College Credit Plus. 1. In order to address the implementation of student options for state-mandated postsecondary education, a co-facilitated College Credit Plus (CCP) committee shall be created. The committee will meet regularly (at least quarterly) to develop a comprehensive plan for the implementation of College Credit Plus. The committee shall be comprised of an equal number of bargaining unit members and Brecksville-Broadview Heights City School District administrative employees. The bargaining unit members shall be appointed by the BEA President, and the administrative employees shall be appointed by the Superintendent. The total combined number of the committee members shall not exceed eight (8) unless additional staff is invited by mutual consent. 2. The co-facilitated committee shall present the product of its efforts to the BEA President and Superintendent on a mutually agreed upon date. The BEA and Board shall then negotiate the mitigating issues identified based on the recommendations of the co-facilitated committee for implementation during the 2017-2018 school year. The parties agree that the committee will meet quarterly in order to review, assess and, if necessary, refine the implementation of College Credit Plus as mutually agreed. 3. Adequate release time shall be granted for the work of the committee. If members of the College Credit Plus Committee determine by consensus to conduct some of their meetings/activities outside of the school year and/or school day, each member shall be compensated at the rate of .0007 of the highest teacher base in effect for each hour of College Credit Plus work beyond the teacher day. The members of the College Credit Plus Committee will determine the frequency of meetings beyond those contractually required, the date of meetings, location, and time of meetings.
College Credit Plus. A. No bargaining unit member shall be forced to meet the requirements to teach CCP classes. C. Any bargaining unit member who teaches a CCP class shall be approved for required in-service days to engage in planning with the cooperating college/university instructor and any other days as required by the higher learning institution. The bargaining unit member shall be paid his/her per diem rate of pay for the in-service day, plus mileage at the IRS rate and any other expenses (hotel, etc.) at the district rate. D. Courses offered for CCP shall be determined by May 1 for the following school year. E. Neither any CCP performance assessment required shall not be used as part of the OTES nor shall it be included in the bargaining unit member’s personnel file unless requested by the member. F. Bargaining unit members will be compensated one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each CCP class taught. G. If the Board deems it necessary to offer a CCP class, it may request that a bargaining unit member voluntarily obtain the qualifications needed to teach said course. The Board will cover part of the cost for the member who voluntarily agrees to obtain the CCP credentials. However, if the courses are available at Ohio University at no cost to the member, the member shall take the courses from Ohio University.

Any teacher who teaches a course that qualifies for College Credit Plus shall be afforded an in- service day to visit the participating institution of higher education to engage in planning with the cooperating college instructor and any other day as required by the college/university. The teacher shall be paid his/her per diem rate of pay for the in-service day, plus mileage at the IRS rate. The district shall pay the costs for employees to be trained as an adjunct instructor.

College Credit Plus. Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 3365 et seq., the District shall participate in the College Credit Plus (CCP) program and shall offer college level courses to students in grades 7 through 12 in accordance with the following provisions: 1. The Administration will publicize the application process (including any deadline) to staff members. 2. The Administration, at its discretion, will select the successful applicant(s) and the educational institution and program in which such applicant(s) will participate. The Board will reimburse each participant for required tuition and fees (but not textbooks and supplies) upon submission of appropriate documentation to the Board’s Treasurer. As a condition for reimbursement, the participant must complete the program and pass any course taken with a grade of “C” or better (or a passing grade if the course is graded on pass/fail basis). 3. After completion of the program, the participant is obligated to remain employed by the Board for a period of three (3) years. For this purpose, “year” is defined as at least one hundred twenty (120) workdays on paid status within a particular school year. If the participant fails to fulfill this commitment, the board is entitled to recoup thirty three percent (33%) of its reimbursement cost incurred under the preceding paragraph for each year of the three-year commitment not met. For example, if the participant remains employed for only two (2) years, the Board will recoup thirty three percent (33%) of its reimbursement cost. This recoupment provision will be waived, however, if the commitment is unmet because of the participant’s death and may be waived for extenuating circumstances with Board approval. 4. No evaluation conducted by an institution of higher education (IHE) will be utilized in the District evaluation of a bargaining unit member. However, he/she may provide information from the IHE evaluation as evidence of competencies in his/her District evaluation. Any evaluation performed by the IHE shall be kept separate from the employee’s personnel file, unless inclusion is requested by the member in writing. No employee shall be terminated, non-renewed, or otherwise disciplined based upon the results of the IHE evaluation. 5. CCP instructors will be paid a stipend of $500.00 per course, per semester. College Credit Plus. Any assignment to teach a class offered at and by the District to students through the College Credit Plus program shall first be offered to bargaining unit members holding the required credentials in accordance with this Article. If no bargaining unit member is properly credentialed and qualified to be an adjunct for the College Credit Plus course, pursuant to the requirements of the program, the Board may arrange for such class(es) to be taught by non-bargaining unit members. In the event a district teacher becomes qualified to teach a College Credit Plus class, he/she will be offered the opportunity, upon the next cycle in which an instructor is needed based on the Superintendent’s assessment of instructor need. Any teacher who teaches a college Credit Plus course shall be afforded a professional development day to visit the participating institution of higher education to engage in planning with the cooperating college instructor, with prior approval from the Building Administrator. Additional professional leave time may be approved by the Building Administrator to attend required meetings connected to this teaching position. When there are required meetings outside the work day the teacher will seek prior approval from the Building Administrator and, upon approval, the curriculum rate of pay (Article 13.04) will be provided as approved by the Building Administrator. In the first year a bargaining unit member teaches a College Credit Plus course as an adjunct in accordance with this Article, he or she may request approval from the Curriculum Director for a reasonable number of hours for preparation paid in accordance with the curriculum rate of pay (Article 13.04), to be approved at the Curriculum Director’s discretion. Any observation conducted by the Institution of Higher Learning shall not be used in any way in the evaluation of the teacher. Observations conducted by the Institution of Higher Learning shall only be those as required by law or required by the Institution of Higher Learning. The District can conduct its own observations and/or walkthroughs for purposes of OTES. A bargaining unit member may choose to have material generated by the Institution of Higher Learning included in his/her personnel file. Materials not placed in the personnel file shall be retained by the District to the extent required by law.
