Break in Service and Seniority. Time spent on any leave, paid or unpaid, shall not be considered a break in service for purposes of this Agreement. 15.16.1 A Unit Member on an unpaid leave of absence, or who is otherwise in unpaid status, shall not earn paid vacation, holidays, or sick leave for the period during which the Unit Member is in unpaid status. 15.16.2 Time spent on an unpaid leave of absence shall not be counted towards seniority for purposes of establishing retention lists in the event of layoff. 15.16.3 An unpaid leave of absence of less than one year shall count toward longevity credit for purposes of longevity pay, longevity vacation, and other longevity benefits.
