C3S Requirements for Arctic in situ data Sample Clauses

C3S Requirements for Arctic in situ data. The project has collected input on in situ data requirements from the C3S global reanalysis (ERA5), the C3S Arctic Regional Reanalysis and the C3S seasonal forecasts. Information from the C3S European Regional Reanalysis project has not yet been received, but as only a small part of their domain is located in the Arctic this is not considered a major issue. We also collected requirements from C3S 312b: Essential Climate Variable products derived from observations. We received responses from Lot1 (atmospheric physics), Lot2 (Atmospheric composition), Lot3 (Ocean) and Lot4 (Land hydrology and cryosphere). Lot5 (land and biosphere) replied that they did not rely on in situ data. An overview of main requirements for meteorological information is given in Table 2.1.1 C3S requirements for ocean and cryosphere data are included in the respective sections.
