Common use of Calculation of Length of Vacation Clause in Contracts

Calculation of Length of Vacation. (i) For the purpose of calculation of length of annual vacation with pay, an employee's service will be that service performed in the twelve (12) month period currently used by homes for such calculation. This period may vary between homes (e.g. January 1 -December 31, April 1 - March 31, July - June 30), and that no home will change its currently accepted accumulation period without prior discussion with the Association. (ii) When an employee becomes eligible for a greater amount of annual leave, he/she may be allowed in the year in which the change occurs, a portion of the additional leave for which he/she has become eligible based on the ratio of the unexpired portion of the year to twelve (12) months, computed to full working days.
