Common use of Call-In Clause in Contracts

Call-In. (a) An employee required to report back to work after leaving the premises of the work location following completion of a shift, but before the commencement of the next shift, except as required under Article 16, or called back to work on a day the employee is not scheduled to work, except as required under Article 16, shall be granted a minimum of four (4) hours pay at straight time rates or the applicable overtime rate, whichever is greater. The minimum guarantee of four (4) hours pay shall not apply to part-time employees who are offered additional hours for a period of less than four (4) hours. (b) An employee on the Employer’s premises prior to the commencement of her shift, who is requested to begin work by the Employer, shall be eligible for overtime rates for that period of time before her actual shift is scheduled to begin.
