Common use of CEMENT CONCRETE ROADS Clause in Contracts

CEMENT CONCRETE ROADS. The Contractor shall maintain the works executed by him in proper repair for a period of 5 years from the date of completion of work, in satisfactory condition at his own cost. 2'1/2% of the total value of work should be retained for a period of 5 years from the date of completion of work, in order to enable the department officers to watch the effect of all seasons on the work. During the maintenance period of 5 years the contract shall undertake rectification of any defect noticed due to the faulty workmanship by the contractor or substandard materials used by the contractor in the execution of the work at his own cost.
