CERTIFICATION OF UNION REPRESENTATIVES. The Union shall notify the Company in writing promptly of the appointment or election of MCS USW Stewards, MCS USW Committee person and local Union officers. Whenever a regular certified Union representative is absent from his job for any length of time, the Union may, if it feels it is necessary, appoint an assistant Xxxxxxx or Committeeperson in place of the regular Xxxxxxx or Committeeperson and shall provide the Company with written advance notice of the appointment. This appointee shall act in this capacity when the regular Xxxxxxx or Committeeperson is not working and until the Company is notified by the Union that the appointment is canceled.
