Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. This position will be trained to provide assessment and evaluations, be familiar with and/or trained in American Society of Addition Medicine (ASAM) criteria, withdrawal management and referral services; and have expertise in crisis intervention, psychosocial assessment, case management, and treatment planning. This staff shall be licensed and/or certified or registered to obtain certification as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor.
Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. (CADC): Contractor shall provide a CADC for a minimum of 1.0 FTE at Joplin to provide individual, group, and family substance abuse counseling. The CADC should possess at least two (2) years of full-time supervised employment as an alcoholism counselor or drug counselor, or at least 4,000 hours of supervised counseling experience. Responsibilities of the CADC shall include but not be limited to: Assist with day-to-day site coordination Provide substance abuse related services and transition support Lead substance abuse education services for parents and youth Complete required documentation such as attendance logs, behavior reports, surveys, etc. Carry a caseload of approximately 30-35 youth for individual substance abuse sessions, group counseling, individual FEAR sessions, and FEAR substance abuse groups at Joplin; and 8-10 youth for substance abuse assessments, individual substance abuse sessions, and substance abuse groups at Juvenile Hall
