Chronic Relapsing Pancreatitis. An unequivocal diagnosis of Chronic Relapsing Pancreatitis, made by a Registered Doctor who is a specialist in gastroenterology and confirmed as a continuing inflammatory disease of the pancreas characterised by relapses in the form of sub lethal attacks of acute pancreatitis, irreversible morphological change and typically causing pain and/or permanent impairment of function. The condition must be confirmed by elevated levels of pancreatic function tests including serum amylase, serum lipase, and radiographic and imaging evidence. Relapsing Pancreatitis caused directly or indirectly, wholly or partly, by alcohol is excluded
