Common use of COFFEE TIME AND LUNCHES Clause in Contracts

COFFEE TIME AND LUNCHES. a) Day workers who work a twelve (12) hour shift shall be allowed a full hour lunch break as near to the middle of the shift as possible. During each six (6) hour shift, each day worker will be entitled to two (2) coffee breaks of at least twenty (20) minutes each. The timing of such breaks will be at the discretion of the Master and subject to the safe navigation of the vessel. b) Unlicensed crew members, where safe navigation allows, shall be given two (2) coffee breaks of at least twenty (20) minutes each during a six (6) hour watch. Such breaks shall be spaced approximately two (2) hours apart. The spacing of such breaks shall be at the discretion of the Officer of the watch. This clause also applies to working aboard barges and dozer boats. c) Ingredients for hot night lunches shall be available for crews changing watch and those called to work overtime and premium time.
