Compensation on Promotion. A regular or probationary employee who is promoted to a position in a class with a higher salary range shall be compensated at the entry rate of the higher salary range, or at the rate which would provide a minimum of 5 percent above the rate they were receiving prior to promotion, whichever is greater. In no event, however, shall the salary after promotion be higher than the top step of the salary range of the new position. Upon satisfactory completion of the employee's probationary period into which he/she is promoted, the employee shall receive regular status and be advanced in accordance with Article 10, Section A.
