Competitive Area. The competitive areas will be established in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Descriptions of competitive areas must be readily available and generally must be established 90 days before the effective date of a RIF.
Competitive Area. The Competitive Area is the organizational and geographic component within which employees may compete with other employees during a RIF. The Competitive Area is determined by management at the time the need for the RIF is decided.
Competitive Area. The Agency will define the competitive area for a RIF or TOF action. The competitive area may consist of all or parts of the Agency. The competitive area will be defined solely in terms of EPA’s organizational unit(s) and geographical location and will include all employees within the competitive area so defined.

Competitive Area. These are the boundaries within which employees compete for retention under RIF procedures. Employees in a competitive area compete only with each other; they do not compete with employees in another competitive area. In anyone reduction in force an agency may not use one competitive area for the first round of competition and a different competitive area for subsequent rounds of competition.
Competitive Area. Consists of all organizational entities in the Library where positions in the affected employee's competitive level are located (see B., below). An affected employee's reassignment or transfer to such organizations will be effected in the following sequence whenever possible: lst competitive area: in the affected employee's own department; and 2nd competitive area: in other departments of the Library.
Competitive Area. 1. For the purpose of this article, “competitive area” is defined as:
a. Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center employees compete center wide.
b. Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center employees in the Denver field office compete office-wide.
2. Either party can initiate negotiations in order to expand the definition of the competitive area, as long as it will not result in undue disruption to employees subject to the displacement process.
Competitive Area. An area in which Employees compete for retention is known as a competitive area. A competitive area must be defined solely in terms of the Agency’s organizational units and geographical location, and it must include all Employees within the competitive area as defined.

The competitive area will be defined solely in terms of USMEPCOM’s organizational unit(s) and geographical location and will include all employees within the competitive area so defined.

B. Each DFAS activity that is geographically separate from a DFAS OPLOC is a separate competitive area.
