Consideration of Rest Periods. A worker who has not had a reasonable period of rest because he or she responded to emergency situations during hours which he or she would not normally be working shall be deemed excused from reporting to work at his or her normal start time. He or she may use accrued compensatory time or unpaid leave for all or part of the following day.
