Categories of Appointment.
6.1.1 The categories of appointment are:
a) Permanent (full time or part time).
b) Fixed term (full time or part time).
c) Casual (as and when required, paid on an hourly basis).
6.1.2 Part time appointments must not be less than 0.2 and not more than 0.8 of a full-time position.
6.1.3 Where a fixed term appointment is made, the following will apply:
a) Fixed term appointments will be made for genuine reasons on reasonable grounds and may be defined as ending at the conclusion of a specified period of time, or at the end of project or event.
b) Where a fixed term appointment is made for the purposes of teaching a full year's programme, that appointment shall be made for a period of not less than 12 months.
c) For fixed term appointments involving less than a full year's programme, the length of the appointment shall, wherever practicable, include a reasonable period for preparation, administration and marking.
d) In the case of fixed term appointments, the options under the surplus staffing provisions of this Agreement will not apply at the conclusion of the specified term or employment.
Categories of Appointment. The five (5) categories for appointments governed by this Agreement shall be as follows:
Categories of Appointment. The Personnel Rules regarding categories of appointment shall be amended as follows: Probationary Appointment - The appointment of a person to a position in a classification listed in Appendix A from an employment list to serve the required probationary period for that classification. Provisional Appointment - The appointment of a person to a position in a classification listed in Appendix A as defined in the Personnel Rules. Permanent Appointment - The appointment of a person to a position in a classification listed in Appendix A who has completed the required probationary period in that classification. Temporary Appointment - The appointment of a person to a position in a classification listed in Appendix A for a specified duration not to exceed twenty-four
Categories of Appointment. 4.1.1 Employees are appointed by the Board in one of the following categories:
4.1.1.1 Tenured appointment;
4.1.1.2 Tenurable appointment;
4.1.1.3 Conditional Tenurable appointment;
4.1.1.4 Permanent Laboratory Instructor appointment;
4.1.1.5 Limited-term appointment;
4.1.1.6 Contract appointment, including sessional, continuing, or fixed-term appointment.
4.1.2 Conditional Tenurable, Laboratory Instructor, Limited-term, and Contract appointments are not tenurable appointments.
4.1.3 The Board, at its discretion and expense, may require an applicant to undergo a medical examination prior to appointment.
4.1.4 All appointments of Employees are subject to the approval of the Board.
4.1.5 At the time of initial appointment, it shall be the responsibility of an Employee to furnish valid evidence, in writing, of experience and qualifications.
4.1.6 All Employees shall be evaluated according to the existing policies and procedures in place for each category of appointment. Where such policies do not exist, the Employee shall be evaluated as for Tenured Employees.
Categories of Appointment. All initial appointments of full-time faculty members shall be in one of the following categories: Tenured Tenure-track Limited term
Categories of Appointment.
3.1.1 The categories of appointment are:
(i) Permanent, i.e. tenured, fulltime or proportional;
(ii) Fixed term, i.e. limited tenure, fulltime or proportional;
(iii) Hourly paid.
Categories of Appointment. 4.1.1 Employees are appointed by the Board in one of the following categories:
4.1.1.1 Tenurable appointment;
4.1.1.2 Term-certain appointment;
4.1.1.3 Tenured appointment;
4.1.1.4 Part-time appointment;
4.1.1.5 Job share appointment.
4.1.2 Part-time, term-certain and job share appointments are not tenurable appointments.
4.1.3 The Board, at its discretion and expense, may require an applicant to undergo a medical examination prior to appointment.
