Part-time Appointment. An Employee who has retired may apply for a part-time appointment, which is an appointment at the Employee’s rank under the terms of the Agreement between St. Xxxxxx University and the Faculty Association of the University of St. Xxxxxx, Part-time Bargaining Unit.
Part-time Appointment. A part-time appointment is a full-time appointment in which the academic staff member is required to work on less than a year-round basis (e.g. appointed to work on a regular basis from July 1st - December 31st).
Part-time Appointment. “Part-time appointment” shall mean such status of employment as shall have been conferred upon any member of the bargaining unit as a term of such person’s appointment to the rank of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor or Instructor at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, as a Clinical Nursing Instructor at any University, the three (3) salaried part-time faculty in the English Department at Salem State University and further including any part- time unit member holding a part-time appointment to a position defined in the Decision and Direction of Election issued by the Labor Relations Commission and dated December 16, 1986 (Case No. SCR-2172).
Part-time Appointment. “Part-time appointment” shall mean such status of employment as shall have been conferred upon any member of the bargaining unit as a term of such person’s appointment to the rank of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor or Instructor at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design or as a Clinical Nursing Instructor at any University, and further including any part-time unit member holding a part-time appointment to a position defined in the Decision and Direction of Election issued by the Labor Relations Commission and dated April 21, 1987 (Case No. SCR- 2172).
Part-time Appointment. 4.9.1 For appointments, wherever possible, a selection committee shall be struck and shall be composed of:
4.9.1.1 the Chair, or where appropriate, the Executive Director in the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Life or designate, who shall be chair of the committee. When the Chair of the academic unit is unable to chair the committee, the Xxxx/Director shall designate a chair for the committee.
4.9.1.2 Two representatives, where possible, from the academic unit. Both of these representatives shall be tenured, where possible, and both representatives shall be elected by the academic unit in which the vacancy occurs.
4.9.2 No later than May 15 or the tenth week of the Fall Semester, as appropriate, the Chair shall ask currently employed part-time instructors in a academic unit if they wish to be considered for employment. Such instructors will notify the Chair in writing and their application will be considered by the selection committee for part-time employment, based on previous successful performance and qualifications.
4.9.3 Notwithstanding the provisions in Article 4.9.2, the selection committee shall be provided with all applications and supporting documents, including the criteria developed by the Xxxx/Director and Chair.
4.9.4 If a current or former part-time employee wishes an appointment in any subsequent semester which falls within an eighteen (18) month period since previous appointment, such an individual shall be considered for appointment in accordance with criteria developed by the Xxxx/Director and Chair. Without limiting the generality of the aforementioned criteria, accumulated experience at Mount Royal College that is both satisfactory and relevant, shall be the determining factor in making a decision.
4.9.5 The selection committee shall review all applications, conduct interviews if necessary and develop a short list of candidates in order of priority according to the selection criteria developed by the Xxxx/Director and Chair.
4.9.6 The committee's decision, where possible, shall be reached by consensus or, if this is not possible, by a two-thirds majority vote.
4.9.7 The Chair of the selection committee shall prepare a written summary report which contains the committee’s recommendations and submit it to the appropriate Xxxx/Director for approval. Part-time Appointment. An Employee who reaches the age of sixty-five (65) may apply for a part-time appointment, which is an appointment at the Employee’s rank under the terms of the Agreement between St. Xxxxxx University and the Faculty Association of the University of St. Xxxxxx, Part-time Bargaining Unit.
Part-time Appointment. 9.6.1 Any Employee may apply for a part-time appointment for a limited term or on an on-going basis. This application shall be made in writing with a copy to the Union.
9.6.2 The Employer’s response, including any special terms, shall be communicated to the Employee in writing with a copy to the Union within fifteen (15) working days of the application. The Employer shall provide reasons in writing in the event the application for the appointment is refused.
Part-time Appointment. (a) Any full-time member of staff, in the affected area, may seek to convert his/her appointment to a part-time one. The Implementation Manager will decide whether such a part-time appointment can be offered, having regard to the operational requirements of the unit. When the Chair of the Department/Program is unable to chair the committee, the Xxxx/Director shall designate a chair for the committee.
4.6.1.2 two representatives, where possible, from the Department/Program or group of counsellors or the group of librarians. Both of these representatives shall be tenured, where possible, and both representatives shall be elected by the Department/Program or group in which the vacancy occurs.
4.6.2 The selection committee shall be provided with all applications and supporting documents for the vacant position(s), including the criteria developed by the Xxxx/Director and Chair.
4.6.3 Where the selection committee finds, using the criteria noted in 4.6.2, that there are two or more applicants who are deemed equal by the committee, then accumulated experience at Mount Royal College, that is satisfactory and relevant, shall be the determining factor in making a decision. Experience is defined as the accumulated scheduled instructional course hours in the discipline.
4.6.4 The selection committee shall review all applications, conduct the necessary interviews and develop a short list of candidates in order of priority according to the selection criteria developed by the Xxxx/Director and Chair.
4.6.5 The committee's decision, where possible, shall be reached by consensus and, if this is not possible, by a two-thirds majority vote.
4.6.6 The Chair of the selection committee shall prepare a written report which contains the committee's recommendations of the leading candidate or candidates. Such report shall be submitted to the appropriate Xxxx/Director and shall be considered by the Xxxx/Director in part-time employee appointments.
