Common use of Contract Administration Conference Committee Clause in Contracts

Contract Administration Conference Committee. An ad hoc Contract 8 Administration Conference Committee may meet periodically, at the request of the 9 Employer or the Association, to discuss common concerns to improve relations and avoid 10 unnecessary disputes between the parties. The express purpose of the meetings shall be 11 to discuss contract interpretation and clarification, Association grievances (or potential 12 grievances), improved methods of communication and employee relations, and/or 13 problems of staffing and recruitment of nursing personnel. Such meetings shall not be 14 used for the purpose of discussing or adjusting individual employee grievances. In the 15 event of severe staffing shortages, the Conference Committee shall meet at the request of 16 either party to comprehensively consider alternative means of staffing the Employer other 17 than those outlined in the current agreement. These discussions may include, but not be 18 limited to, revised or emergency staffing patterns, pay incentives, recruitment practices, and 19 nurse registry utilization. This collaborative effort shall not be interpreted to reduce or 20 eliminate any Employer right to take unilateral action to effectively deal with a staffing 21 shortage. All such meetings shall occur during business hours with no loss of pay for any 22 Association representative who is scheduled to work during such a meeting. This 23 committee may be utilized as a means for the parties to amend, add, or delete portions of 24 this Agreement as deemed appropriate by authorized mutual consent. 25
