Common use of Contractor’s General Responsibilities Clause in Contracts

Contractor’s General Responsibilities. The Contractor is solely responsible for implementing the Work in full compliance with all applicable laws and the Contract Documents and shall supervise and direct the Work using the best skill and attention to assure that each element of the Work conforms to the Contract requirements. The Contractor is solely responsible for all construction means, methods, techniques, safety, sequences, coordination and procedures and protection of the installed work as part of the Contract until Substantial Completion of the Project. Contractor remains responsible for the care and protection of materials and Work in the areas where punch list items are completed until Final Completion. The Contractor shall visit the Site and ascertain all pertinent local conditions including but not limited to existing subsurface concealed conditions, location, accessibility and general character of the Site or building, the character and extent of existing work, the character and extent of existing work within adjacent sites and any other work being performed in the location.
