Common use of Convention/Conference/Education Leave Clause in Contracts

Convention/Conference/Education Leave. An employee who has been elected or appointed by the Union to attend Union conventions or other business of the Union shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for this purpose if such leave does not interfere unduly with the operation of the employer. The Union will be responsible for requesting such leave on behalf of the employee and shall reimburse the Employer for all salary and fringe benefit costs for the period of the absence.
