When an employee is to be absent due to a court summons, subpoena or as a witness, a copy of the summons, subpoena, or letter requesting the employee’s presence as a witness must be submitted to their immediate supervisor. This requirement should be completed in time for the immediate supervisor to obtain a suitable substitute if applicable.
