Common use of Creation of New Classification Clause in Contracts

Creation of New Classification. A. Prior to requesting the Civil Service Commission to make any change which creates a new bargaining unit classification or affects an existing bargaining unit classification (including any changes in duties, typical tasks or definitions), the Board shall notify the Union of its intention to make such changes and, upon request of the Union, shall provide to the CSEA President or his/her designee all information which is proposed to be submitted to the Civil Service Commission and will further advise the CSEA President or his/her designee of the date the Civil Service Commission will consider the Board’s request. B. Whenever the Board proposes to create a new bargaining unit classification, the Board will negotiate the pay range for such classification with the Union.
