Voluntary Shift Exchange. When operational requirements permit, employees may exchange shifts among themselves provided that: A) prior approval of such exchange is given by the employee's immediate supervisor; and B) an employee moving to the exchanged shift is entitled to all benefits of this Collective Agreement which would normally be afforded to an employee working that shift. The Employer shall not incur any additional costs over and above those expenses which would have resulted had the exchange not taken place.

Such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld; and B) an employee moving to the exchanged shift is entitled to all benefits of this Collective Agreement which would normally be afforded to an employee working that shift. The Employer shall not incur any additional costs over and above those expenses which would have resulted had the exchange not taken place, and C) Regular employees may exchange shifts with casual employees with scheduled shifts; and D) Wherever possible, employees will give forty-eight (48) hours notice of shift exchange to the Resident Services Manager or designate.

Voluntary Shift Exchange. When operational requirements permit, regular employees and casual employees who have posted into a temporary assignment may exchange shifts with another regular employee or casual employee who has posted into a temporary assignment provided that prior approval is received from the department manager. A form must be completed and signed by the exchanging parties seven (7) days prior to the date of the exchange. Requests submitted less than seven (7) days prior to the exchange will be reviewed and approved at the sole discretion of the Care Director or their designate. Such requests will not be unreasonably withheld. Employees are solely responsible for working the shift they sign for in the voluntary shift exchange agreement. The Employer shall not incur any extra costs over above those expenses which would have resulted had the shift exchange not taken place.
