Remote Learning. Each school district will develop a remote learning plan that has been approved by its Board of Education and then submitted to the Ohio Department of Education by August 21, 2020. Additionally, each school district ● will include as a part of their plans an option for parents to elect to send their student(s) to school for school-based learning OR an option to select remote learning for their student(s). ● will only permit parents to change their selected option at the end of each district’s determined grading period (nine weeks, semester or trimester). ● recognizes that remote learning may include both digital (online) and analog (nondigital) instructional delivery. ● recognizes its responsibility to provide students with laptops or other appropriate devices as well as district-selected online platforms to participate in remote learning. ● will not permit students to move in and out of remote learning unless there are specific reasons related to quarantine or COVID 19-related health issues. ● may elect to utilize remote learning during periods of time for “practicing” remote learning, or if buildings are closed for cleaning or sanitizing OR in circumstances where the virus has escalated and the superintendent determines that a school building or the district will move to remote learning.
Remote Learning. A. Remote learning (instruction and assignments not provided in person) if required of, or deemed necessary by the Board, will be instituted after consultation with and advice from the CEA officers or their designee. Remote Learning. Implementation of remote learning, including but not limited to, during the Covid-19 pandemic, shall not constitute a calamity day(s), regardless of the underlying reason for implementation of remote learning. Should the Superintendent, in his/her sole discretion, determine remote learning to be necessary, employees shall perform the duties of their positions on such remote learning days, even if students or teachers are not in attendance, unless otherwise directed by the Administration. Employees will receive their regular rate of pay for work performed on a remote instruction day. No additional premium will be paid for such work under this provision or current law.

Remote Learning. In the event the District determines that remote learning will be utilized through the end of the school year (“Extended Remote Learning”), the District shall pay Contractor a daily rate of 40% of the regular route rate for all regular routes scheduled but not run per the approved 2020-21 school calendar (the “Long-Term Remote Daily Amount”). The Long-Term Remote Daily Amount payments are to compensate Contractor for certain fixed costs and shall not include any overhead or profit otherwise realized by the Contractor. These payments may continue through the end of the school year, or they may be re-negotiated by the Parties in the event that the District determines to return to in-person learning.
Remote Learning. The Global pandemic (Coronavirus) in 2020 necessitated a growth in remote and online learning as students were unable to attend normal Academy provision. This enabled the Academy to deliver and support learning in new and innovative ways. The following guidelines should be adhered to when setting and facilitating online and remote learning to ensure students’ safety and welfare. • Staff should only use approved platforms/applications to set/deliver online learning, including Show My Homework, Class-charts, Microsoft Teams, and Google Classrooms, as part of a coordinated approach • Staff should only communicate with students via these platforms and the use of approved Academy email addresses • Sessions should be properly scheduled, and attendance recorded • Where webcams are used, staff should always have their camera turned off, so that students cannot see them or their surroundings. I some cases, when delivering content student microphones should be muted, but can be unmuted for questions • Staff should report any safeguarding concerns that may arise during online learning session through the normal channels and inform the DSL
Remote Learning. A. While the first day of school is August 26th, 2020, the District will implement remote instruction (Continuous Learning 2.0) from September 8, 2020 through at least October 30, 2020. Any revisions to this schedule will be dictated by recommendations by state and local health agencies. B. The District reserves the right to create a series of individual or small group (no more than five (5) students as recommended by the health district) meetings between students and their teacher(s). These meetings will take place between August 26, 2020 and September 4, 2020. Schedules will be created at the building level. Remote instruction will begin on September 8, 2020. The following protocols will be followed: 1. Parents will transport and may accompany their student to school for this appointment. Entry to the building will be no sooner than 5 minutes prior to the appointment. 2. Parents and student will check in at the office, be screened for COVID-19 symptoms, and checked that required face masks are being worn. 3. In order to meet YHD guidelines only the parent and child will be allowed to meet in the designated area. No additional siblings are allowed. The parent/1 child combo format has been cleared by YHD to count as 1 student/unit as long as all safety guidelines are adhered to. 4. The location of these meetings will be assigned by the Principal, with consultation with teachers, areas where physical distancing can be maintained. Hand sanitation stations will be placed throughout the halls. Meeting sites will be assigned in order to limit student movement. Teachers will rotate in meeting with students when appropriate. 5. The purpose of the meeting is to meet the teacher, assess the student’s online access at home, and provide directions for receiving tech help from the District, as well as setting expectations as it relates to the student’s education. 6. The teacher may also provide an initial set of assignments and/or worksheets to the student, along with any class rules/syllabus and/or online class protocols. 7. The meetings shall last no longer than thirty (30) minutes and the parent and student will exit the building immediately. Individual certified employees may choose to meet more than thirty (30) minutes. 8. Teachers with medically verified underlying conditions may meet remotely or have a proxy with consultation with the building principal. 9.
