Death and Illness. Subd. 1. An employee may be granted up to five (5) days absence with pay due to the death of the employee's spouse, child, step-child, parent, brother, sister, parent-in-law, son-in law, daughter-in-law, or grandchild. Up to three (3) days absence may be granted with pay for the death of the employee's grandparent, brother-in-law or sister-in-law, or significant person. The leave set forth in this section is non-accumulative and shall not be deducted from sick leave.
