Common use of Deduction of Sick Leave Clause in Contracts

Deduction of Sick Leave. All absences due to illness or accident as defined in Article 23.01 on a normal work day shall be charged against an employee's sick leave credits. There shall be no charge against an employee's sick leave credits when he is absent for less than one-quarter (1/4) day. If the employee's absence is for one-quarter (1/4) day but less than one-half (1/2) day, one-quarter (1/4) day shall be charged against his sick leave credits. If the employee's absence is for one- half (1/2) day but less than a full day, one-half (1/2) day is charged.
